Why are Innovation Partnerships Charitable Incorporated Organisations

Establishing an Innovation Partnership as a CIO sends a clear message to its stakeholders that it is a values-driven organisation with a clearly defined mission to support Ventures that strategically manage their social and environmental impacts.  Whereas an Innovation Partnership seeks to be financially sustainable and aims to recover the cost of incubating new Ventures on Exit, it does not seek to profit from them.  Any surplus is reinvested in the Innovation Partnership to support its mission.  The CIO legal status and the IP Foundation innovation process are key to building the trust and transparency needed to protect Intellectual Property and to overcome the moral hazard of information asymmetry amongst stakeholders.
