GAME DESCRIPTIONS

Pick Your Couple (PYC) - Please pick a different couple each time.

Ladies will play from the “forward” orange tees at Balboa

Best Ball Gross & Net (Couple):   The lowest gross plus the lowest net added together is the team score on each hole.  You can use one player’s score for both gross and net.   (Enter gross/net – i.e., 5/4).   Circle the scores used.  Add them together for your team score.

COUPLES CHAMPIONSHIP:  Total of both player's net and gross.  Keep your gross score.  Subtract the handicap at the end of the round.  Add the two gross scores, add the two net scores.  Place total gross and total net in the colored boxes.  Champions will be low gross and low net couples, whichever places higher.  Max score is double par. Mark a “M” on the card if a max score was used for tie breaking purposes.

One Low Gross and One Low Net (Foursome): For each player, mark gross/net.  Circle the lowest gross and net score (must be from different team members) that are used on each hole then add them together for your team’s total score and write it in the space provided.

One Low Net (Couple):   The lowest net ball is the team’s score on each hole.  Enter gross/net for each player. (5/4)  Circle the net score you are using for your team score and enter in the team score row.

One Low Net from Men One Low Net from Women (Foursome):  Add together for team score. Scorecard – For each player, mark gross / net. Circle the lowest net score for the men and the lowest net score for the women and add these two together for the team score.

One Low Net from Each Couple (Foursome):  Use the one lowest net score from each couple as your team score.  Enter score as gross/net (5/4), circle the two net scores you are using and enter that total in the team score box.

Par 5’s 4’s & 3’s (Foursome):  All players play their own ball.  Use net score.  Count 1 score on Par 5’s, 2 on Par 4’s and 3 on Par 3’s.   Scorecard – For each player, mark gross / net. Circle the net scores that you are using for team score on each hole, total and enter total team score where indicated.

Red/White/Blue = Yellow (Foursome): On the hole with the Red Flag, count 1 Best Net.  On the hole with the White Flag, count 2 Best Nets.  On the hole with the Yellow Flag, count 3 Best Nets. Circle the net scores used, total and enter team score where indicated.

Ryder Cup 6-6-6 (Couple):  Couples play 3 formats:

Scramble on holes 1-6 – select best shot, each play from within 12” of selected shot in like conditions until the ball is holed; Best Ball net on holes 7-12, each play own ball, mark gross/net, circle and select the best of the two for team score; Modified Alternate Shot on holes 13-18 – each tee off, select ball then alternate shots from that spot until the ball is holed.

Scotch (Couple):  Both players tee off on each hole.  Select a drive then alternate each shot until ball is holed.

Scramble (COUPLE):  Both players tee off.  Select best drive and each hit from that spot; select best 2nd shot, each hit and repeat until ball is holed.

Scramble (FOURSOME):  All players tee off.  Select best drive and each hit from that spot; select best 2nd shot, each hit and repeat until ball is holed.

Shamble (Couple): Both tee off, select best tee shot. Play out individually from there until ball is holed out.  Score is the best net. (Enter gross/net; circle the score used).

Shamble (Foursome):  All four tee off, select the best shot.  Move all balls to that spot, then play out individually until each has holed out.  Scoring is the 2 lowest net balls.  (Enter gross/net –i.e., 5/4).  Circle the scores used and add them together for your team score.

Texas Scramble (Foursome): All tee off; select best shot, all play from within one club length of that spot, keeping the ball in similar condition (i.e. if ball is in the rough, it must be played from the rough), continue until ball is holed.  NOTE - 4 drives from each player must be used.

Two Low Nets of Foursome:  Use the two lowest net scores as your team score.  Enter score as gross / net (5/4), circle the two net scores you are using and enter that total in the team score row.

Waltz 1-2-3 (Foursome):  Each person plays own bal.  On 1st hole, score the lowest net of the four players.  On 2nd hole, score the 2 lowest nets.  On the 3rd hole, score the 3 lowest nets.  Repeat for 18 holes.  Write gross/net (i.e. 5/4) on your scorecard and circle the net scores you are using as a team score.  Enter team score in the designated space for each hole.
