Unfortunately, we don't provide answers to our questions.
You don’t need to sign-up if you want to practice test questions or earn a certificate. If you were invited to a test, you should use the test link you were provided.
You can earn a certificate if you score in the top 25% in any public test. Select the test you’d like to receive a certificate for and click the “Take a Practice Test” button. If you score in the top 25% you’ll be prompted to enter your name and email and we will generate a certificate for you.
When the time for a question runs out your last chosen answer will be automatically submitted.
When you buy a pack, a number of invites is added to your TestDome balance, based on which pack you choose. An invite is spent each time you invite a candidate to a test. If you need to test for different skills, you can combine questions from different skill categories into a single test so that you don't have to send separate invites to the same candidate. If a candidate does not take the test, their invite will be refunded, and you can use it to invite another candidate. You can see our brief tour here: https://www.testdome.com/tour
If you’d like to discuss things in more detail, you can schedule a call or demo here: https://calendly.com/testdome/
Our self-service accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express, PayPal, Amazon Pay, Discover, JCB, and UnionPay. Alternative payment methods are also available for larger packs (Medium and above), including Purchase orders, Wire transfers, Alipay, Sofort, iDEAL and Giropay.
You will have to top up your account manually before inviting new candidates. You can switch to automatic top-ups on your payment settings page. This will automatically top up your account with the same pack when you use 90% of the previous one.
Yes, you can top up with any pack.
Forever, there is no expiration date.
For certain countries, we are obliged to collect VAT on top of the listed prices. If you have a VAT ID you can enter it during the purchase process to remove the VAT charge.
We can refund the cost of any unused invites minus a 20% handling fee (the minimum fee is $30) up to 6 months (credit cards) or 90 days (PayPal) after purchase.
The invoice is included as a link in the email sent by our payment provider (FastSpring) whenever you are charged. You can also view your invoices in your payment settings.
We can offer you a white label solution, where candidates wouldn't see that the test is coming from TestDome - it would come from a custom domain, as agreed with you.
This is available for the Large (US$2400), ExtraLarge (US$4200) or bigger packs, with an extra charge of 20%.
Here's the detailed explanation of the problem:
· TestDome uses FastSpring as e-commerce solution so FastSpring is the merchant of record for transactions between the customer and TestDome (i.e. invoice is issued by FastSpring and payment is done to the FastSpring).
· For receiving international wire transfers, FastSpring uses Global Collect.
· To receive money cost efficiently, Global Collect has accounts all over the world.
· International money transfers usually go via an intermediary bank. If they do, the intermediary bank takes USD 20-30 as their fee of the transferred amount.
· Due to this setup, TestDome and FastSpring don't have access to actual receiving bank account and are relying on automated detection by Global Collect which depends on the correct usage of the account owner, payment reference and matching amount listed on the invoice.
What most commonly happens is that accounts payable don't follow the instructions on the invoice for the account owner and/or payment reference (e.g. writing FastSpring as account owner and/or TestDome as payment reference). If that coincides with payment going over an intermediary bank, we get to the situation that sending bank considers the transfer successful, but it got lost in a way that Global Collect is unable to match it to the invoice as neither account owner, nor payment reference nor amount match what was expected.
We don't need a SWIFT copy as proof that you paid. We need it to get what information was written by your accounts payable team so Global Collect can find the transfer and match it to our invoice.
There is no limit to how many questions you can have on your test, but we generally recommend that tests have a minimum of 2 questions.
There is no limit to how long a test can be, but we generally recommend that tests are not longer than 2 hours. Each question has its own time limit, and the time limits of all questions add up to the total time of the test.
If a candidate does not take the test their invite will be automatically refunded to you within 24 hours.
If you check the billing history on your account (under payment settings), you will see that their invite has been automatically credited back when the test deadline expired. This refund happens as part of the automated daily maintenance so what probably happened is that you checked your account after the test deadline expired but before the automatic refund was triggered.
Yes. Re-invites to the same test are free as long as the same email address is used for that candidate.
You can see the answers in the candidate report after a candidate completes a test. You’ll be able to compare their answer to our proposed solution.
No, candidates taking the test cannot see the answers.
When the time runs out, the candidate’s last selected answer will be automatically submitted.
You can see the full list of skills and topics that we cover in our question library.
If you’re looking for tests or questions of a skill or topic that we don’t cover at the moment, you can suggest it on our feedback page, as well as vote for topics suggested by others. We’re continuously working on adding new features and testing areas based on user demand and feedback, so let us know what you’d like to see.
Yes, there are 3 different user roles:
Owner - Access to all tests and account information, as well as payment data. There can only be one Owner per account.
Super User - Access to all tests and account information, but no access to payment data. You can have an unlimited number of Super Users on your account.
User - Access limited to their own tests. No access to account information or payment data. You can have an unlimited number of Users on your account.
You can add new users and change user roles in your user settings.
Invite via email: The user that sent the invites receives test results via email.
Invite via TestURL: The user that created the test will receive results via email.
Please use your company email as we don't allow free email domains.
We are fully compliant with GDPR. You can see our legal documentation here.
Candidate’s personal data is automatically anonymized after a certain period of time. You can set the data retention policy in your user settings, from 1-3 years. We are also obliged to remove personal data earlier if specifically requested by a candidate.
Proctoring images for candidates are automatically deleted after 60 days for privacy and security reasons.
Because for many questions the test suites are very complicated to understand without additional documentation and we believe that opening them up would create more confusion than solve problems. Having said that, if you have specific questions for which you would like to get test suites, let us know at firstname.lastname@example.org and we'll see what we can do.
All our questions are protected from copy/paste, and you can also enable email verification and webcam proctoring for candidates.
Our questions are unique and handcrafted by our team, not common interview questions that can be found online. Because of this we actually encourage candidates to use any resources they normally would as they would be able to do so in most jobs.
If in some rare case one of our premium questions does get posted somewhere online, we have a system which constantly monitors search engine results for all occurrences of our questions and we react as soon as a leak is found. Reactions range from requesting that the leak be removed, which works most of the time, to deprecating the question.
On top of that, we have learned cheating doesn’t happen nearly as often as people think it does. Candidates most likely expect that they will have to talk to someone experienced after passing the test so they avoid embarrassing themselves by having a high score on the test and then not knowing to answer anything else in person.
When you as a user are choosing a question to use, one of the most important things to get right is to choose a relevant question that is testing fundamental piece of knowledge (e.g. working with collections of data) and not something that only professionals with a specific type of experience had encountered (e.g. sound processing).
For example, it’s common to find algorithmic problems that test a very specific algorithm that candidates don't have a way of designing if they haven't seen that exact algorithm before. In our case we always put simple unknown algorithmic problems that don't have an official name and that way we are sure we are testing algorithm design or algorithmic thinking instead of just remembering and reproducing an algorithm candidates have just memorized.
Therefore our questions are targeting only highly relevant pieces of knowledge. We would really appreciate if you could let us know your thoughts about this topic as we’d love to understand what our users think and what they consider important.
The legal answer is no, we haven't done a validation study as defined by The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). Because:
The EEOC says: "Employers should ensure that employment tests and other selection procedures are properly validated for the positions and purposes for which they are used. The test or selection procedure must be job-related and its results appropriate for the employer’s purpose. While a test vendor’s documentation supporting the validity of a test may be helpful, the employer is still responsible for ensuring that its tests are valid under UGESP."
We provide a question library from which employers choose a set of questions they want to use. We also provide a functionality for employers to add their own custom questions that we have no control over.
We do have a quality assurance process in place for our questions. In short, apart from the question author, at least two independent subject matter experts (typically with interviewing experience) have to review the question and state if they believe that the question is testing a fundamentally important concept that can separate good from bad candidates. On top of that, each question is presented in a test setting to tens of candidates claiming to be somewhat experienced in the relevant field where we make sure they can understand the question. They start off in the right direction if a reasonable number of them can solve the question completely. Only after that do we release the question to production.
Once released, we continuously monitor score statistics and feedback for our questions and take appropriate actions where needed.
The main idea behind EEOC's regulation on testing is to prohibit employers from using selection procedures that have the effect of disproportionately excluding persons based on race, color, religion, sex, or national origin, where the tests or selection procedures are not “job-related and consistent with business necessity.” The way we fight that is to focus on work-sample based testing where it's very easy to show that a person who doesn't do well is obviously not fit for the job irrespective of which group they belong to.
Our procedure for handling different versions of a question is the following:
- When we release a new version of a question due to a bug, the old version is deprecated. This means that the question is unsafe for inviting new candidates and at that moment you will have to create a new test or clone the existing one - which will automatically update the question.
- When we release a new version of the question as a minor improvement, but nothing is significantly wrong with the old version, we mark the old version as obsolete. This means that you can continue inviting candidates to the test containing the obsolete question, but when you add the question to a new test or clone an existing test the question will automatically be updated to the latest version.
- We also deprecate questions which have been obsolete for over a year. There will be a warning about this a month earlier to notify you if your tests will be affected.
We are doing all this to make sure that our customers rely on questions whose quality we fully stand behind.
