Preston Hot Springs Town-County Library

1. Services to the Public: Knit Wit meets Friday afternoons at 1pm. December 14, 2024 the Friends of the Library will have a bake sale, small make an offer sale, and will conclude the silent auction that they started on December 7, 2024 at the Lonepine Bazaar. There are 16 baskets to bid on. Bid sheets are available at the library. Bidding ends at 3pm December 14, 2024. Winning bidders have until 5pm Tuesday December 17, 2024 to pick up their items. Curt Kruse will be at the library Friday December 20, 2024 to do a presentation on Traditional Chinese Herbology, The Eight Principle Patterns. The program starts at 1pm. The Books in Search of Kids table will be up at the library from Tuesday December 10, 2024 through Saturday December 14, 2024.

2. Collections: The book weeding is finished. We are looking at starting the winter book sale the week of December 17, 2024.

3.  Technology: The new server is up and running. We did have to shut down the computer center for part of Tuesday December 3, 2024. The Thanksgiving Holiday left Envisionware short staffed so we postponed to the first week in December. Everything is working properly. We have a couple changes to make but they shouldn’t cause any disruption in service.

4. General Administrative Business: The library received a $2500 donation from The Montana Community Foundation for “operating support or projects, including new chairs, new books/materials, support for Books in Search of Kids.” We are currently looking into new chairs, replacing/repairing the office window, which was damaged several years ago by a weed eater projectile. This donation is from a long time supporter of our library, Phyllis Buckridge.

The library board will meet December 18, 2024 at 5pm for their monthly meeting. The meeting will be short, as the library will start its staff Christmas party at 5:30.
