Goal 1: Achievement

By the end of 2019-2020 school year, Robinson Middle School will attain an overall 5% growth on the ACT Aspire Summative Assessments, while meeting a 7% growth for African American / Special Education student subgroups as compared to the previous year’s result.

Interventions:

  • Each core subject will select 8-10 standards which are essential for success in the current and future grades.
  • Each core teacher/ Collaborative Team will implement the entire PLC Cycle using common work products.
  • Develop a School-Wide Intervention Process and ensure implementation follow-through.
  • Create and implement a Quarterly Data Meeting for Collaborative Teams to share progress towards goals.
  • Utilization AVID Strategies school-wide with a focus on higher-level questioning and incorporating disciplinary literacy into daily instruction in all content areas.
  • Utilize Instructional Coaches for support for students who are two or more years behind in any core area.

  • 2018-2019 School Year- Some Special Education Teachers & 6th Gr. Teachers were Trained in RISE (Phonics First) K-6
  • 2019-2020 School Year- Train All New Special Education Teachers & 6th Gr. Teachers in RISE (Phonics First) K-6 (Summer)
  • 2019-2020- Train All 7th & 8th Gr. Teachers in the Science of Reading Modules AR IDEAS (Summer)
  • 2019-2020 School Year- Embed Foundational Literacy Workshops In Faculty Meeting & Collaboration Meetings

Goal 2: Performance Gap

The performance gap between non-Black students and Black students will decrease by 5% as measured by the ACT Aspire summative assessment at the end of the 2019-2020 school year  as compared to the 2018-2019 school data.

Goal 3: Participation

We will maintain an equitable proportion of African-American and disadvantaged students participating in extracurricular activities, gifted programs and honors, enriched, and advanced placement courses throughout the 2019-2020 school year.

Goal 4: Discipline

The number of discipline problems and classroom disruptions will decrease by 10% through school-wide interventions and strategies designed to promote positive behavior as measured by a comparison of actual discipline referrals for the 2019 school year and the 2020 school year by the end of 2019-2020 school year.
