Dear Virtual Students and families,

I am excited to start off another section of virtual teaching with you!  Once a date is coordinated throughout the district there will be a day to pick up supplies.  In your packet of supplies you will receive an Art Sketchbook from me.  The sketchbook has pages for our assignments, sketches, and freedraw drawings as well.  If this is lost students can use any paper for their assignments.  Lined paper or the back of junk mail work just as well as blank copy paper.  You will need a pencil for every project and a means of coloring in work.  I suggest markers and colored pencils.  A black pen or sharpie is not a must have but often helpful.

To receive full credit on assignments, work must be uploaded to Artsonia.  Artsonia is an on-line portfolio site that allows me to see student work and give feedback.  Completed work will be marked in green and say completed which means it has been graded.  If its marked sent back it will be marked in red, and that means you need to read feedback from me and resubmit your work.  Anywork with a blank + means work needs to be submitted. Parents, this is a great way for you to see if your child is keeping up with work. The only project that is optional is the draw draw folders.  It is important to take a clear picture of your work so that it can be graded fairly.  Use the editing tools to rotate your work, and crop out everything but your work.  Parents, you can also create an account and share work that your child has created with friends and family.

Students will also receive participation points in art class.  Each art time, students start off with 5 points.  Points are lost when expectations are not followed.  At the end of every class students will be expected to show me progress on work, if they do not, all points for the day will be lost.  Points will be lost for being off task, and not turning on the camera when asked to do so.  If a student loses all points in one class period, I will send a message on class dojo letting parents know.

Please let me know if you have questions.  Students, you can use our Art google classroom page to post questions, or send me a hangout.  Parents, feel free to contact me through email or dojo.  All my contact information can be found under Teacher pages on the Pine page.

Looking forward to getting creative!
