2020 Grand Forks Youth Baseball Association 9/10 League Operations
Season Start: March 18, 2020
Break (no league activity): Weeks of July 5 & July 12
Season Concludes: by July 31, 2020
Indoor (Gambucci): Starting March 18th and continuing until weather permits outdoor practices. 2 per week on Monday and Wednesday. Group setting, with kids rotating among different stations.
Evaluations will take place April 13 (9/10 year olds). Team formation will occur shortly after evaluations. Outdoor practices will start as early as the weather allows, typically by the end of April. Specific times will be determined and announced as the weather picture becomes more clear.
Outdoor (9 Year Olds at TBD, 10 Year Olds at Optimist): As early as weather permits and continuing until July 22nd (no practice July 8 and July 15). 1 per week on Wednesday. Group setting, with kids divided up into groups (by skill level), and rotated among different stations. Toward the middle to end of season, will look at the overall level of the player’s skill development and decide if team practices would be more appropriate.
Games: 1 night per week on Monday (no games July 6 and July 13). Single game while school is in session. Double headers (one game for the standings and one development game) once school is concluded. Minimum of 10 games must be played.
Regular Season Game Start: First week of May, weather dependent.
Last Regular Season Game: Week of July 19, 2020.
Regular Season League Tournament: Week of July 26, 2020 [this will be the last week of games]
Team Evaluations: One evaluation for each player. Teams will be put together by a committee consisting of the 9 coordinator, 10 coordinator, 1 executive board member, and the 9U & 10U Travel Coach.
2 Divisions: Yes if 8 or more teams - divisions will be divided by age (i.e. 9 year old & 10 year old). Rules will be the same for each league. If less than 8 teams, status of dividing the league will be evaluated for the best development of players.
Number of Teams in League and number of players per team: As many teams as numbers allow. 10-12 players per team.
Travel Teams in League: No
