NANCY MALINOWSKI ATHLETE LEADER AWARD
Mercy High School honors a multi-sport senior Scholar-Athlete each school year with the Nancy Malinowski Award.
The honor is named for Mrs. Nancy “Mal” Malinowski, long-time Mercy Athletic Director, Coach, and former professional and multisport athlete.
Qualifications
- Good academic record over seven semesters: Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 with a strong selection of courses in overall curriculum
- Well-recognized athlete: Winner of honors (local, regional, state, etc.) in two or more sports.
- Demonstrated leadership: Both in their sports and in the school
- Good sportsmanship: Viewed by teammates, coaches and officials as a role model in their positive behavior on the playing field
- Overall character: Consistently demonstrates behavior in alignment with the school’s mission and values; loyal supporter of Mercy High School
Selection
Applications will be available in April and must be completed and turned in to the Athletic Director by the posted deadline.
- Administration, in consultation with the Athletic Director, will select the honoree prior to the annual Honors Convocation where the winner will be recognized.
- Administration may select more than one winner in any given year.
