Impact testing Wednesdays -  1/23 &  1/30 @ 215pm C-Lab

 

Anyone interested in throwing shot put or discus, there will be open pit today after school at 3:15 on the football field.

 

Key Club:  This Saturday Jan 19 we have the Library Shelf Cleaning Project at the Tempe Library from 9AM - Noon, also sign up on the website.

 

Anyone in need of Community Service? If you would like to earn 4 to 12 hours of community service, working here at Tempe HS this Saturday, please go by the gym and sign up with Coach Pavlenko.

 

There are 3 Wednesdays left for Impact Testing.  Anyone trying out for softball must pass the impact test, as well as the required documents on Register My Athlete before tryouts begin on February 4th.  Nobody is allowed to tryout without all of the proper clearances .  Please see Mrs. Fanucci in Athletics if you have any questions.

 

Sophomores and Juniors if you would like to go on an EVIT Tour on Jan 22nd please go see Ms. Kayla in the Counseling office for Field Trip Information! There are only 50 spots open!

 

South Mountain Community College will be here during Buff Block on Friday, January 18. Sign up through Naviance for help applying, completing FAFSA with the admissions rep, or scholarships available. Don't miss it!

 

Attention students grade 9 - 11 ~ you took the PSAT test in October and have the results, now what?  Plan on attending PSAT Score Interpretation Night with your parents on Thursday, January 31, 2019 from 6:30 - 8:00 pm in the Desert Vista Auditorium. Find out how to use the results to help improve your SAT score junior year, how the results help prepare you for the college admission process, how to use the results along with Khan Academy, and how the National Merit Scholarship Program works.

 

Attention seniors interested in attending South Mountain Community College, On Friday, March 1st, SMCC will be hosting Cougar Day, a day of motivation, inspiration, college admission information, food, fun, and friends! Don't miss it! See Ms. Marques for a field trip permission slip! They will be due back by Feb. 1, 2019.

Attention sophomores and juniors, TUHSD is hosting Applying to Selective Colleges Night on Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2019 from 6 - 9 pm in the Mountain Pointe H.S. Auditorium.  ASU Barrett, Carleton College, Duke University, and the honors colleges from NAU and U of A will be on hand to discuss what selective colleges look for in an application, the experience a liberal arts college provides and what Arizona offers our top students. Attention Seniors who have been admitted to ASU or who are in the application process.

Desirai Browning, our ASU rep, will be here on Tuesday, Jan. 22 from the beginning of Buff Block through the end of lunch in order to assist any students  have any questions about their next steps in the enrollment process. Students can come and ask about orientation, housing or any other next step questions that they have during this time.  In addition, an ASU financial aid specialist will be present in order to further students who are in the FAFSA verification process and those students who have applied to ASU but still need to begin/complete their FAFSA.
