About Kaci: Kaci Pellar (she/they) is Detroit Disability Power’s Policy Manager. In 2020, Kaci joined the DDP team as a graduate intern, then joined staff as Policy Analyst in 2021, and transitioned to Policy Manager in 2023. Kaci earned her Bachelor of Social Work from Central Michigan University in 2019 and her Master of Social Work from the University of Michigan in 2021. Previously, she worked at MidMichigan Home Care as a medical social worker in hospice and home care, as an intern with the National Association of Social Workers-Michigan Chapter, as a volunteer for Early Head Start, and as the founding President of CMU’s chapter of Refugee Outreach Collective. Kaci collaborates on councils, advisory boards, and coalitions as a Mad disabled activist.

Kaci dreams of blocks, neighborhoods, and places where we all freely give and receive love, without fear of being left behind or not having the resources we need to live fully as ourselves. Kaci loves having existential conversations, seeking and creating opportunities to build connection and power, hiking, and cuddling their family – her partner, daughter, three dogs, and two cats!
