Associate Dean of Business

My focus is on ensuring the academic quality of the curriculum and on the administration and management of high-quality courses, department chairs, and faculty.

  • Provide strategic operational program and curriculum leadership for Graduate and Undergraduate Business and Public Service degree programs and faculty administration.  
  • Redesigned MBA program and designed a hybrid EMBA program.  
  • Participated in accreditation reporting from IACBE.
  • Lead and participate in School, College, and University strategic planning and operations.
  • Develop external outreach and community engagement to support the development and funding of academic programs.  

Faculty Program Director of MBA and MOL

  • Oversaw 21 courses and 37 rotating part-time faculty, including two IND courses. This includes working with faculty, students, and staff to resolve concerns.
  • Redesigned and updated nearly every course in the MBA curriculum in collaboration with part-time faculty, including 3 redesigns that I served as the primary SME on.
  • Oversaw 10 new course developments and redevelopments in the past year and a half (2021-2023).
  • 19/21 courses are rated above the division mean currently on student evaluations.
  • This effort has helped to support the increased enrollment for MBA (January 2023: 116) and MOL (January 2023: 60), up from the time I began overseeing these courses a year ago (January 2022: MBA:47, MOL:22).
  • Partnered with industry companies (Hebeler, LLC; Datatelligent) and providers (Forage) to provide real-world experiences and experiential learning options for our students.
  • Built a virtual home base in SharePoint and send out regular newsletters to faculty and the entire program.
  • Served on institutional committees (Curriculum and Instruction Council, Canvas Beta Testing, Annual Research Symposium, Academic Transition Team, Strategic Planning).
  • Led the development of the new Sustainability Concentration and Certificate.

Institutional Effectiveness & Planning; Founder & Director, Institute for Teaching Innovation

Led high-level projects for the unit of Institutional Effectiveness and Planning.

  • Accreditation: Co-chaired the Middle States Steering Committee, as well as the Standard 5 Research Team.  Designed and drafted the Self-Study Design Draft. Coordinated the collection of data through SharePoint-designed spaces from all departments, including assessment reporting from all areas of academics (general education, health sciences, and business). Participated in accreditation reporting and visits from multiple accreditation agencies, including ACPE, CCE, ACEND, ACOTE, CAPTE, CCNE, ARC-PA, and IACBE, primarily representing faculty development, strategic planning policies, and community engagement.
  • Strategic Planning: Developed and co-led the new strategic planning process for the college.
  • K12 Partnerships: Developed the Early College Bridge Program. Co-led K12 Partnerships on behalf of the college and the new healthcare hub programming, including Summer Camps.
  • Community Engagement: Developed the Thrive Plan, which aggregates the community-facing work we do in our campus’ doorstep community. This framework includes our learning ecosystem, green space stewardship, community collaboration, and economic impact.
  • Policies: Developed the campus’ policy archive, which contains all of the campus’ policies, handbooks, and manuals in one location.
  • Faculty Development: Founded and led the Institute for Teaching Innovation with the goal of supporting faculty members at D’Youville and establishing the college as a leader in college teaching. Coordinated signature events that include the Conference on Teaching Innovation, Development Days, faculty orientations, and the Summer Faculty Retreat.
  • Grants: Co-wrote and served as PI and assistant director on two grants.

Managed the Center for Online Learning & Innovation.

  • Developed the strategic plan for the COLI that aligns with and supports the vision and mission of the university.  
  • Provided project management leadership for all projects related to the Center's pedagogical and technology mission.
  • Oversaw the discovery, creation, testing, and implementation of innovative educational technologies.
  • Coordinated training and consultations offered by the Center.
  • Supervised support staff, fellows, and student workers in the COLI.
  • Coordinated a yearly technology conference open to the public.
  • Co-led the learning management system migration from ANGEL to Desire2Learn.
  • Drafted the Masters in Educational Technologies Program & NYSED submission (now Instructional Technologies and Curriculum Design)

Collaborated with college constituents.

  • Engaged VPAA, Deans, and faculty groups about technology in education and online learning needs.
  • Assisted academic departments as they recruited, evaluated, and retained FT, PT, and adjunct professors.
  • Coordinated with marketing, admissions, and academic administration about online learning issues and needs.

Provided college leadership in online learning and technology innovation.

  • Served as a point of contact for online learning, faculty and staff development, non-credit programs, and technology integration for accreditation and State authorization reporting, including AACSB, CACREP, CAEP/NCATE, NC-SARA, and Middle States. Also, assisted with the management and coordination of files and policies having to do with all accreditation processes. Co-led the Middle States Standard 7 team.
  • Designed, managed, and hosted college policies in Confluence.
  • Promoted the use of technology to improve practices across the College, highlighting the use of Microsoft Office and Google Suite.

Served as the technology in teaching and learning liaison for AJCU.
