The Role

Cellino is seeking a research associate with significant experience in human-induced pluripotent  stem cell (hiPSC) and mammalian stem cell culture techniques. This position will report to the  Senior Stem Cell Scientist and requires proficient technical experience in hiPSC  reprogramming, expansion, and differentiation techniques. You will work very closely as part of  our growing biology team and will actively participate in optimizing culture conditions and  validation assays. Successful candidates should be scientifically motivated self-starters,  comfortable working in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment, excellent at rapid problem solving, and adept at communicating across disciplinary boundaries.

Responsibilities

Independently maintain and provide hiPSC cultures for team use

Optimize culture conditions as needed with Sr. Scientists (e.g. cell media, extracellular  matrices, passaging methods for hiPSCs)

Generate hiPSCs from multiple somatic cell types

Optimize reprogramming protocols with Sr. Scientist(s)

Differentiate hiPSCs to appropriate therapeutic cell types using appropriate differentiation techniques

Use established SOPs to characterize hiPSCs and differentiated cells Clearly present and discuss results in team meetings

Communicate well with other team members about all aspects of the project

Requirements

BSc/MSc Degree in Biological sciences with 2+ years of experience in a biology lab Experience with mammalian cell culture and techniques including introduction of  reagents into primary cells via viral vectors or electroporation and cationic lipid  transfection

Very strong technical experience in human iPSC culture

Working knowledge of data analysis tools (e.g. Excel, GraphPad Prism) Ability to work well independently and as part of a cohesive team

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced cross functional team environment

Strong oral and written communication skills

Strong collaborative software platform-based communication skills  

Must have work authorization for the United States  

Nice-to-Have Skills and Background

Experience in reprogramming somatic cells to hiPSCs

Hands-on experience with basic molecular biology techniques such as Western blotting,  qPCR, plasmid preparation, bacterial culture, flow cytometry, and cellular reporter  assays

Experience in isolation of DNA and RNA preferred

Previous experience with CRISPR technologies
