2018 Executive Committee
Please note a change in the the monthly meeting schedule for this month. It will be held on March 11th.
As the preparations for the Mahavir Jayanti Celebration program continue to move at a fast clip, let’s take a moment to recognize the army of volunteers who are already helping with the Puja and various cultural programs. And those who will follow shortly to help with the stage decorations, video shooting, kitchen duties and more. It is these soldiers that help make a grand program like Mahavir Jayanti celebration a success.
Equally important has been the sponsoring for many different aspects of the program. To those who have already pledged, we sincerely thank you. We also still have one available sponsor category. Please consider pledging for this auspicious occasion, and contact Mr. Pratyush Mehta if interested or need further details.
Please read on for full details …

Mahavir Jayanti Cultural Program
HSNC Cultural Hall
Planning is already underway and all involved are gearing up for another great event.
Mahavir Jayanti is one of the largest events sponsored by JSCNC, is open to everyone, and demonstrates the unity and generosity of the JAIN community. As an interesting note, last year’s event attracted a record turnout of approximately 450 participants, volunteers and guests!
The Executive committee puts in a lot of planning to cater for such an event, but your support is what really makes this program a grand success.
Taking part in the stage program is not the only way to participate/support. We are looking for volunteers and pledgers alike to help in many other ways. Here are some ways you can help:
To the volunteers, participants and all involved, we humbly ask that you provide your full cooperation to Program Directors and Choreographers. This will help tremendously to plan and execute this program smoothly. If there are any issues or concerns, please contact the Mahavir Jayanti Cultural Coordinator, Mrs. Neha Kuruwa.
Please note a change this year is that Choreographers/Coordinators/Skit Directors will be solely responsible to find/select participants needed for their item. If necessary, Mrs. Neha Kuruwa can try to help.

Pathshala Fees for Calendar Year 2018
JSCNC rents an after-school facility off Morrisville Pkwy., which charges a nominal rental fee for holding these Pathshalas. Based on this and a few other factors, the committee has calculated the Pathshala fees for 2018 to be $75 in total per child.
If you haven’t already sent in your payment, please mail the check to our Treasurer ASAP at the following address:
Please make the check payable to “JSCNC” and write your child(ren)’s name in the memo. For example, "Child1, Child2".
Your cooperation in this matter is greatly appreciated.
Please visit http://www.jscnc.org and click Events. The calendar has the most up-to-date listing of all confirmed activities for the year. All the tithis (Lunar Days) are also posted on the online calendar. Here is a list of some key dates:
Food served during monthly meetings and special events has played a vital role in building our community over the years. It has enabled us to spend quality time to learn Jainism and socialize with other fellow Jains without having to worry about our usual lunch/dinner planning that day. In fact it has also served as an incentive to come together and promote our community. This wouldn't have been possible without the hard work and monetary donations from several individuals. We are extremely grateful for their efforts and thank them for their continued contributions. Visit the following link to find more details on these individuals.
Note that as our community has grown over the years, sustaining the food table program has become challenging. We encourage you to help us here by volunteering to serve as a host, volunteering to prepare food or providing monetary donation so that some food items can be catered.
Please contact our food coordinator, Mr. Ajay Shah @ (919) 601-2624 for any questions / details.
