APPLICATION FOR W-CGES DAILY NEWS CREW

We are looking for fourth grade students who are reliable, able to listen and follow directions, and who stay on task. You have the opportunity to serve on the W-CGES daily news show for the 2025 - 2026 school year.

There are several jobs to be performed on a crew (anchor; green, kindness, jokes, and weather columnist; audio technician; technical director). Crew members must be willing to learn all jobs and be in the media center by 9:20 AM during their crew shift (barring late buses). Crews are selected at the beginning of each year on the basis of the job application and the reference given.

Applicant: Please write and attach a persuasive paragraph (you may use the back of this form), saying why you should be selected to serve on the WCGES Daily News crew.

Permission/Reference Signatures:  My child has permission to participate on the WCGE Daily News crew. This includes, but is not limited to, being videotaped, photographed, and/or recorded for school community and MCPS use and for upload to the Cedar Grove ES Web page via our YouTube Channel. I have discussed with my child that this is an extracurricular activity, and that behaviors and performance in and outside of school can affect eligibility to stay on the Daily News crew.
