  3. The WVH Radio Steering Committee is meeting today in Room 310 at lunch. Please see Ms. Campbell for details. (If you’re running late, the meeting will move to Lab 315 after the first five minutes.) Everyone who has an interest in starting our school radio station is welcome to join.

Monday, Oct 15

  1. The WVH Radio Steering Committee meeting, originally scheduled for today at lunch, is postponed to Thursday at lunch. Meet in room 310. Please see Ms. Campbell in 310 if you have any questions.
  2. There is a girls softball practice today from 4-5 at Kitty Gaul Field.  Any concerns please see Mr. Street sometime today.  
  3. There will be a spirit team meeting this Thursday at lunch! New and returning members are welcome to attend! Stay tuned for a room. If you have any questions, or would like additional information see Mr. Moores in room 321 or Mr. King in room 327!
  4. A reminder to all students that there is NO school tomorrow, Tuesday, October 17th, due to a district wide senior high closeout. Classes will resume Wednesday, October 19th, Day 2.

  12. This year the mental health committee will be continuing on with their “Monday Mental Health Mantras”. The first mantra of the year is,”Life does not have to be perfect, to be wonderful”.

Friday, Oct 12

  3. There will be a meeting of the Sharing our Cultures group in Mr. Nobert’s room TODAY at lunchtime. If you are an international student and haven’t attended one of the meetings, please come and check it out.

Thursday, Oct 11

  2. The Boys Softball team - Please be in Avondale tomorrow (Friday)  by 8:30AM for your first game at 9pm.

  4. The first meeting of the International Club will be Tuesday at lunch in room 323. All students in the International Program are invited to attend as well as any other student who would like to help out. Please see Mr. Marmouche if you are interested.

  6. October is Academic Integrity Month. At Waterford Valley High we take this very seriously and after the announcements today all teachers are reminded to spend a few minutes showing the presentation to your class.

Thursday, Oct 4

  1. There is a super-duper important meeting today at recess in the gym for the Boys Softball team. All members are expected to attend.
  2. The boys rugby team plays there first official game of the fall season tomorrow, Friday, the boys play HHM @ 4:15 at swilers rugby complex. Everyone come out, enjoy a good game of rugby and cheer the boys on! We will be distributing face paint and noisemakers at the game.
  3. Rec in the gym at lunch is cancelled for today due to assembly set up.
  4. There will be a short meeting in room 309 at the beginning of lunch today for any Grade 10 or Grade 11 student that want to travel to Greece during the Easter 2020 break.
  5. No Junior Boys basketball tonight.  Next practice is Saturday at noon
  6. Student are reminded to bring in non perishable food items down to the main lobby. Their will be a student picture next to the food items today at recess time.
  7. There is an important meeting recess time in the gym for the girls softball team.  All girls must attend.

  3. MUN School of Music is hosting an Information Session and tour of facilities. All students, parents and teachers are welcome! Join us for a talk and Q&A with our dean, Dr. Ian Sutherland, followed by a performance from alumni, tour of the school and refreshments. October 17, 2018, Suncor Energy Hall, 7:00pm.
  4. September 30 - October 6 is Mental Illness Awareness Week and October 10 is World Mental Health Day. Everyone is encouraged to take some time throughout the week to promote Mental Health by being informed and supporting those with mental health issues. Remember - there is no health without Mental Health!
  5. Congratulations to the girls softball team on their silver medal performance at the regional tournament yesterday.  Way to go warrior girls.

Monday, October 1

  1. There are still people bringing food into the gym during lunch Rec time. Such examples in particular include open cupped Tim Hortons drinks. These are not permitted in the gym. You cannot leave them on the bleachers. You can finish them or put them by the ping pong table.

    2. This year’s Graduating class is sponsoring a Thanksgiving Day Food Drive to support the Community Food Sharing Association all students and staff are asked to please bring in non-perishable food items before Thursday.

3.  Mr. Street’s math 3200 tutorial session scheduled for after school today has been changed to lunchtime today.  If you have concerns please go to room 223 at lunchtime.

4. The first WVH Student Mental Health meeting is scheduled for lunch today in room 312, starting at the lunch bell. Current & new members welcome!

5. The evening AARAO Fair, which includes representatives of 18+ universities & colleges in Atlantic Canada, is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct 2 from 7:00-8:30pm, here at WVH. This event is open to all high school students and parents.

6. Dungeons and Dragons club meets today in the Cafe at 3pm.
