Today is a very important day for our school community. Two years ago on this day we lost a friend, coach, teacher, and colleague. Mr. Danny King, fondly known as DK was a tough as bones player and passed on his knowledge to hundreds of teenagers over the years as a coach with Bishops College, Waterford Valley, Swilers RFC, and The Rock.

One year ago we held the first Danny King Memorial Winter Rugby Game we will host the second annual Danny King Memorial Winter Rugby game today at lunch.

I would also like to encourage the entire student body and teachers to attend the game today. The Grade 10’s and Grade 11’s I realized you never personally knew Mr. King but he has impacted all of us in one way or another. He was very passionate about our school and even more the students in it. So please join us and keep the legacy of Mr. King alive and well in Waterford Valley High for many years to come.

We will start in the Cafeteria at lunch with a few speeches followed by the game which will take place on the field outside. Hot Chocolate will be served.

Please see below a few images of DK doing what he loved best, Rugby.

Liam
