Sanae’s Bread Scans
We scanlate any Touhou doujin that has Alice Margatroid in it! And any wholesome Clannad doujinshi as well!
You can find our past releases on Dynasty Scans, MangaDex, and our website. The link to our Discord is also on our website.
We use a custom-built state-of-the-art tool to produce scanlations called Scanlation Station. We recommend that you skim through Scanlation Station’s documentation to get an idea of how our group operates. We use Scanlation Station for nearly all parts of the scanlation process including translating, cleaning, and typesetting.
We set a timeline for our scanlations, but these are highly flexible. These exist to ensure that everyone has a good idea of how a scanlation is progressing. It always feels great when a project you’ve worked on is finally released!
Our group strives to produce releases with high quality translations and above-average quality typesetting. If you like the work that we do, we hope that you’ll join us!
This is easy! Just join our Discord and mention that you’d like to join our team. We recommend that you read through the rest of this document to see what role is best for you. If you don’t have any experience, that’s okay! We will work with you until you’re up to speed.
As a cleaner in our group, you will be cleaning and redrawing images to remove the Japanese text from them.
Here are some useful resources on cleaning and redrawing made by Mikiichi:

The slides on screentones are particularly important as many of the doujins we scanlate contain screentones. You should also familiarise yourself with the Clone/Copy stamp tool for your image editor.
As a general guideline, our group always cleans dialogue but does not clean any prominent or difficult to clean sound effects.
As a typesetter, your job is to put the translated text onto the cleaned pages. As mentioned before, we use Scanlation Station for typesetting.
It is preferred that you have access to an image editor that can open Photoshop files in order to quickly fix any minor mistakes the cleaner might have left, but this is not required.
We are not currently actively looking for new translators. However, if you have significant experience translating from Japanese to English, and are particularly enthusiastic about translating Touhou doujins, please feel free to ping @nanoskript in our Discord with examples of your past work.
The most important job that quality checkers undertake in our group is ensuring that the translation reads and flows well. You will also be ensuring that everything appears to be typeset correctly. Ultimately, you are the final bastion that ensures our releases meet our group’s quality standards.
These roles sit outside the traditional set of roles in scanlation. Currently, we are unable to directly credit these roles in our releases, but your work would nonetheless be much appreciated.
When a scanlation is completed, we’d like you to download the final images and credits page, rename them, and then upload the release to Dynasty Scans. We’d also like you to tag the release with any tags that you think are appropriate.
We source our raws from Pixiv, Danbooru, and EH. It is very important to us that we only take on projects that have not already been translated. This includes excluding works that have been translated but have not been typeset. We’d like you to find new projects for us to take on, and ensure that they haven’t been translated or worked on by another group.
Here are the titles and circles or authors of some Touhou doujins:
Translations for all three of these doujins exist somewhere on the internet. In fact, there are multiple sites where these can be read! Some techniques we use to search for translations:
