Homeschool and actual school combined
Introduction
This speech is about the benefits of combining homeschool and actual school. By joining them both, we could make our school week more flexible. This could mean that on days where we are tired or sick, we could still join in our class and learn. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the whole world had to move to online school and we have done a mixture of online and real time school when the kids of essential workers went to school while the rest of us stayed home and did online school.
Paragraph 1
During our lockdowns our teachers were able to teach us through a video link. Sometimes this was done with the teacher in the class and with a small group of students with parents that are essential workers. It makes sense to me that if we could set up a permanent video call link that when students were sick or they just needed a break from actually being in the classroom or if their parents were sick and couldn't get them to school that the kids could still access their learning.
Paragraph 2
If this idea could become a reality, perhaps we could develop it into having a shorter school week. This could mean we all come into actual school for a few days a week and then spend the rest of the week doing online school, or the other way around where we could be at school for 3 days and online for 2 days. When you give choices to people, it can take away a lot of problems. It can also be a benefit for the teachers too if they had sick family or could not get to school then we can all just have a at home call meeting. This probably wouldn’t work if the teacher was sick, because they need to rest and get well again. However, there are definitely more positives to joining online school and actual school than there are negatives.
Conclusion
To summarise, combining online learning and classroom learning could be a part of our future because we have spent time doing both and it has worked really well. There are many benefits to using both together and very few negatives.
