Modified Hours and Services

Hours of Operation for In-Person Services

Beginning August 26, 2020, the Office of the Registrar in-person hours of operation are as follows:

Monday - Friday: 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM & 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM

During this time, online services will remain available.

Note: The office will be closed from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM daily for sanitizing.

  1. How can I register in person?

Walk-in registration is available during the modified hours posted above. Students are encouraged to use Testudo Drop/Add or complete a Registration Form and email it to registrar-help@umd.edu.

  1. How can I drop a course in person?

  1. How can I get an official transcript?

Walk-in transcript processing is available during the modified hours posted above. Students are encouraged to submit transcript requests using the following options:

Transcripts will be processed and mailed weekly on Tuesdays and Fridays.

  1. How can I get an enrollment certification or degree verification?

Walk-in verifications processing is available during the modified hours posted above. Students are encouraged to submit verification requests using the following options:

  1. How do I get my ID card?

Visit the Clarence M. Mitchell Building, First Floor Counter to obtain an ID card:

Students, faculty, and staff must bring a government issued photo ID.

If you submitted a photo online for the Fall 2020 semester and you have not yet come to campus, your ID card will be available for pick up when you return to campus in a future semester. (Note: Online photo submission is now closed.)

  1. How do I pick-up my diploma?

Diploma pick-up is available during the modified hours posted above. Students are urged to provide a mailing address in lieu of picking up diplomas, please email: diploma@umd.edu.

  1. How can I get my Apostille?

Apostille will be processed by appointment only, please email: diploma@umd.edu.

  1. How are Federal Investigation Requests being processed?

Please submit the request and release documentation to registrar-help@umd.edu and we will process the request remotely. If there are special circumstances, we will be in touch to set-up an appointment.

  1. How do I submit my residency reclassification petition and documents?

Please visit the Residency Reclassification website at http://registrar.umd.edu/resreclass.html for more information.

  1. I am a graduate student.  How do I submit forms for graduation?

Please email the completed and signed forms to registrar-graduate@umd.edu.
