Happy Friday!
This week in fourth grade, students continued learning about energy through the lens of renewable and nonrenewable resources. We played the “Powered by Nature” game from the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, where students had to work together to track their state spending and make decisions about what types of energy would best power cities in Colorado. It was so fun! As part of the Renew Our Schools energy competition, fourth graders also tracked LTE’s energy usage using the eGauge electricity monitor, and shared energy jokes daily on the school announcements! We are hoping to use all that we are learning about energy to implement positive change and energy conservation in our school!
Next week, we will host a virtual meeting with all classrooms at LTE where everyone will see what a difference turning off the lights makes to our eGauge monitor in real time. We will also continue our own studies of energy as we work to help our school conserve.
