Goldfeather, Ch1

It was just another night in late December in urban Jakarta. Classes have been stopped for the holidays, as per tradition. For Basuki, this was a relief he’s waited a long time, as his school life wasn’t all too thrilling or exciting. This was despite being part of the Pavolia family, a rather big owner of businesses in the nation. Many would have killed to be in a prestigious school where teens of his social stature studied. Unknown to them, Basuki wasn’t one to use his family influence to get what he wanted. As such, all his luck with the ladies was abysmal, for most did not like otaku stuff like anime and vtubers.

Yet, there was a ray of light in all of his struggles and worries: his dear aunt Reine, often by his side whenever she was not streaming or having her streamer friends over. Often, she was an ever-present ear for all his troubles and anxieties, which only piled up as he went on in his teenage years. Girls, games, trends, Aunt Reine had him covered, thanks to her streaming job on top of her being heiress to the big media conglomerate. What he wanted, she provided: a new gaming console, Steam keys, PC components(especially keyboards, her favorite thing about a computer), new clothes, everything Basuki could want. At times, Basuki felt ashamed for what he feels like shameless mooching, but her beloved aunt assured him it wasn’t, all with a charming laugh and a “it’s okay” or “you keep it”. Above else, the two were the outliers in the clan for being into anime/anime-adjacent stuff, and as such, they understand the ostracization Basuki always faces. With his Aunt Reine, he was free to be his anime-loving self.

And said ray of light lit up his cellphone, in the form of a text message.

“Hope to see you soon, Basuki.” the message said. It was enough to make the dull black-haired teenager smile all the way back to his family’s home, which he’ll stay in now that school’s out.

He arrived just in time to join his family for dinner. His father, Narein, was first to speak to him. His two younger siblings were visibly excited to see their elder sibling join them tonight.

“You seem to be in bright spirits, Basuki.” he noticed the beaming grin on his son’s face, as he beckoned him to join dinner.

“Aunt Reine just told me about the 24th.” Basuki replied simply, as he set down his bag on the sofa to join his family for dinner.

“Of course…” his mom, Astria sighed, as she ate another spoonful, trying not to make her scorn visible.

“Yeah, we’ll be coming to the yearly clan celebration. Like we have all those other years.” Narein simply responded. Basuki simply got his rice and viand and ate in a happy silence. Afterwards, Basuki changed clothes and hauled his school bag to his bedroom. Astria took care of cleaning up the table while Basuki took care of washing the dishes.

The week between now and the 24th cannot come soon enough. Thankfully, little exchanges with his Aunt Reine as well as the few friends he had made the wait bearable, be it over private messaging separate from her streamer account, or just casually chatting over the game chat function if available.

Meanwhile, over at the Pavolia manor, Reine had a mild smile on her face upon receiving Basuki’s reply. He cherished that boy mainly for understanding her likes, along with actually being into it himself. In the hustle and bustle that is the Pavolia household, she always looked forward to those little exchanges with him, her beloved nephew.

Sometimes, she’d call up Basuki on the phone just to play games online with him whenever she’s not streaming for a company called Cover Corporation. The games ranged from party games to cooperative games. And above all else, they shared with each other things that no other Pavolia could hear.

Christmas is a very cherished time for him, since he was guaranteed to see her. The 24th is when the Pavolias gather to kick off their lavish Christmas celebrations, and Basuki was calm, but deep down, he was excited to see his beloved aunt once more. Basuki was never more excited to wake up than the morning of December 24. The family ate a hasty breakfast and were soon preparing to travel to the Pavolia mansion for the Christmas retreat. Basuki was thinking very carefully about the clothes he was going to bring.

“Is this okay? Ain’t this too gaudy? Would she like it?” were some of the  thoughts circulating Basuki’s head as he was picking his choices of clothing. He finally settled on some polo shirts, 2 pairs of shorts, a pair of jogger pants, and his nicest pair of rubber shoes, one of many gifts from his beloved aunt.

The travel began in earnest, Narein driving the car while Basuki stood as lookout so that his father doesnt crash into passing cars, bikes, or people. Basuki tried to contain his giddiness all throughout the trip, but soon, the younger siblings caught on, promptly teasing about it until Astria quieted them down. Soon, their modest car, an orange Proton sedan arrived in the Pavolia mansion, a sprawling white, gold and blue structure.

“Oi Basuki, try not to sprint inward.” his dad joked as he shut off the car’s engine, while his wife gave him a  “the hell?” look. They soon did, with Basuki and his 2 other siblings carrying the gifts they had brought for the exchange gift later at midnight. Upon being greeted by the butler, who accompanied the modest family of 5 in, Basuki looked around for a certain tall woman with flowing long white hair, beautiful blue-green eyes, and an absolute bombshell of a body.

One of Reine's older siblings, Aunt Reisha came down first to greet Basuki’s family, to his slight dismay.

“Hello, hello!” she greeted them jovially. “Hey, did you gain some inches, Astria?” she teased his mother, much to her chagrin.

“Alas, happens when sitting down for hours is my job...” she sighed.

The elders went on and walked ahead while Aunt Reisha told the younger three that they’re free to use the smart TV in the living room, reminding them to be careful with operating it. Harto and Farah, Basuki’s younger brother and sister respectively, ran excitedly to the sofas. The elder brother helped his younger siblings get on to Youtube and watch their favorite content.

The wait for his beloved aunt immediately tuned him out of whatever his two siblings were doing. Unable to restrain himself, Basuki asked one of the passing maids the question he wanted to ask ever since he stepped foot inside the mansion.

“Uh yeah, excuse me, where’s Aunt Reine?” he asked the middle-aged maid.

“Ah, Ma’am Reine’s streaming, she’ll be down there in 30 minutes.” the maid assured Basuki. He then settled on watching over his younger siblings while waiting for his beloved aunt. He could barely hear the sounds of a stream going on, his heart lightening as soon as he heard the closing greeting some moments later.

As if an angel descending down from heaven, there arrived Aunt Reine, to greet her nephews. Basuki’s heart skipped a beat upon seeing what was her aunt wearing: a white cat-ear hoodie adorned with many artistic patches including one that says “tonjok”; punch in their native language. Said hoodie was draped over her corset that exposed her midriff and shorts, all colored black with the white parts on the breast to contrast. To top it all off, she has asymmetric stockings that perfectly highlighted her slender legs coming out of white and blue stylized sneakers.

“Auntie!” exclaimed the teen, as he was joined by his younger siblings.

“Heeeeey!” she responded jovially as she hugged her nephews and niece. Basuki made sure he was at the center of said hug. That position led to him being greeted by her bountiful breasts clothed by her corset.

“Glad to see you Auntie!” said Basuki, eyes gleaming in joy. The sentiment was echoed by his younger siblings, albeit to a lesser extent.

“Hello, hello!” she greeted him jovially. “How’s school?” she asked all three of them.

“Meh, nothing of note, really…”, Basuki mumbled, then sighed. “Exams just ended, and I think I did quite well.” he added.

“It’d be fine Basuki, you’re a great student.” Reine assured him with a smile and a pat on the shoulder, which electrified him internally.

“So how about you, Farah, Harto?” Reine asked the younger siblings.

“Maaaaaan Math kills meeeee…” Harto sighed.

“That’s because you’re not trying!” Farah interjected. “English is what kills me though…” she sighed this time.

“Hey, we all have our weaknesses.” Reine smiled at the two younger siblings. “What matters is that we work on them. And that applies to all of you.” she said, sweeping her gaze on all three siblings. The younger siblings returned to what they were watching, which then left Basuki and Reine to themselves.

“Shall we take a walk, Basuki?” she asked the teenage boy. He was too enamored to talk, managing only to hastily nod. Older woman and young teenage boy strode together leisurely into the front yard, making small talk, the December breeze blowing through their faces.

“So,” Reine began, “How was school, really?” she asked Basuki.

“Meaningless…lifeless…” he replied in a dull tone. “But it's a bit livelier thanks to you, auntie…” Basuki added.

“Anything for my dear Basuki.” Reine smiled, as she stroked the boy’s hair, said boy smiling contentedly at this.

Both sat down to continue their chat, as more Pavolias pulled up in the mansion’s parking lot. The aunt-nephew pair continued their chat, veering on to the elder’s streaming activities sometime later.

“What were you streaming earlier, auntie?” asked Basuki.

"Ah, glad you asked!" the adult smiled. "I was just finishing up my Apollo Justice playthrough before the festivities!" Reine answered him.

"Still feels unreal after 3 years...my beautiful aunt...for the world to see." gushed Basuki.

“It’s been fun, but not without its share of growing pains.” Reine began, “Ma wasn’t too happy, since she wanted me to take over PVN soon, but meh, not my life to be honest.” she sighed. Basuki nodded in earnest. “I’ve been to Japan many times now for work, Maldives too thanks to Kiara, and a lot more other places.” she continued. “It was fun.” she added.

“Yeah, I did hear about that in your streams.” Basuki replied.  “You did great in Our Bright Parade by the way, you were on fire!” the teen gushed at his auntie.

“Aw, you’re too kind, Basuki!” she said as she blushed, playfully slapping Basuki’s arm. “But really though, thank you. It was quite grueling, practicing for the big one.” Reine reminisced. “Practice went on for hours, and by the time we were done for the day, I was so drained!” she recounted. “But, it was worth it, seeing many people enjoy all our hard work.” the older woman smiled. Basuki was silent, lost in his aunt’s green eyes.

It was time for dinner soon. All Pavolias were gathered while the maids brought out tonight’s menu. In orderly fashion, The elders were outside discussing their various successes in their respective companies over their meal, laughing as they recounted the year.

Basuki snuck away from his own family to have dinner by her Aunt Reine’s side, also sneaking away from her own family.

“Hey Bas, wanna eat with me?” smiled the older Pavolia tiredly. The younger one nodded, leading the way outside where its relatively quiet. Checking if they’re within sight or earshot of anyone, Reine scowled upon confirming nobody is.

“Tch, they’re taking shots at my job again.” Reine huffed as she started eating. “They’re scoffing at how “juvenile” it is and how much I was a fool for not taking over PVN. Seriously, haven’t they let go yet?!” she hissed.

“Who did you hear saying that?” Basuki asked.

“My older sis and some other siblings of mine" she sighed. “They were talking about how wonderful their spouses were and all that nonsense…” she rolled her eyes.

“Maybe I can be your spouse.” Basuki said, chuckling.

“Heh, study hard first, Basuki.” Reine chided her adoring nephew, chuckling a bit herself. “About that though…” she said, returning to a more serious tone, “Hololive is DEFINITELY NOT the place to look for a man…so many jealous fans…” she sighed again.

“Yeah, I did hear from…certain places. About how you and Kaela the only remotely good HoloID because you do not entertain males onstream…” he scoffed, an unamused expression crossing his face.

“Yeah, just what I was saying!” Reine gesturing at Basuki’s words. “Yuri may be fun and all, but…it just ain’t it, after three years or so…” she said glumly. “It…feels unnatural…” she sighed, as she hurled another spoonful of food in her mouth.

Meanwhile, the elders were discussing their disdain of Reine’s chosen profession over wine, as they finished their meal already.

“Ugh! I told her to quit that immature stuff already!” Reisha exclaimed, a frown crossing her regal features. “Talking clearly doesn’t work with that foolish girl when it comes to that…anime thing.” she ranted, as she took a swig of wine. “Now I have to pick up her mess and manage PVN myself” she exhaled exasperatedly.

“Aaaaaaah, its the same with Basuki too…” Astria sighed, also frowning too. “He clearly loves your foolish little sister a bit too much.

"Oh tell me about it!" Reisha interjected, rolling her eyes. "Every other conversation is all about him if it's not about her stupid job…" she ranted.

"Hey, at least it's an honest profession, if a bit unorthodox." said Piko, another of the Pavolia siblings.

"I don't care, it's still childish! A fleeting fad!" Reisha said. "I bet she's with her darling Basuki again…" she scoffed, leaning back in her seat. "Mother and father did not put us through these prestigious colleges for her to squander it like this!" she continued ranting.

At that point, Astria was silently signalling Reisha to stop, but it was a bit too late, Reine has heard all the ranting. She then huffed away from the place angrily. Later, said woman passed by Basuki and Narein having a casual talk, both immediately seeing something wrong with Reine.

"Hey, something's wrong with her." Narein told his son.

"I know." Basuki replied, already on his way to sprinting upward. It didn't take the teen too long to locate where her beloved auntie is, as everyone was downstairs. Soon, he can hear sniffles from what Basuki knew is her room. Basuki tried knocking.

"Auntie?" he tried calling out.

"Basuki?" Reine responded with a clearly shaky voice, sniffling.

"Yes, its me auntie." he affirmed. Not too long ago, the door opened to reveal that his beloved auntie has been crying her eyes out for at least 10 minutes straight. Basuki sat beside her, and immediately, Reine's head fell to his shoulder.

"When would they understand?" Reine cried into Basuki's shoulder, tears streaming down his polo shirt. Basuki didn't respond, but hugged her lightly. "All I ever asked is understanding! Is it too hard?!" she choked angrily, more tears staining her niece's clothes. "Everytime! Every fucking time! Anjing!" she angrily cried, burying her face in her hands.

"It's alright auntie...I know what you're going through…" Basuki offered.

"T-thanks...Basuki…" said the older woman shakily

Basuki later got a bottle of water from the mini-fridge inside the room, Reine slowly drinking it up. The two just sat there silently, the teen waiting for the older woman to stabilize.

"Oh, hey…" Reine said, looking up at the clock finally, "it's Christmas already." she remarked, as she paused her drinking.

"Ah!" Basuki gasped. "Merry Christmas, aunt Reine." he greeted her with a warm hug. It was the best one there is now for her.

"Merry Christmas, Basuki." Reine replied back. Both stayed together in a hug for a solid 5 minutes, give or take. Basuki then informs her that the rest of the clan is waiting for them.

"Hey auntie, I think we should go downstairs now…" he informed her.

"Mmm, I'm sure your siblings are wondering where you are." she said, trying to shift back into her normal voice. The two made their way downstairs to join the rest of the clan welcoming in Christmas day. The younger ones are beginning with their gifts already, Farah and Harto making the first tear with their first box already.

"Brother! Aunt Reine!" exclaimed the two, in the midst of unwrapping her presents.

"Where were you, brother?" Harto asked.

"Long story, Harto." Basuki evaded the question.

"Yes, really complicated." Reine chimed in, coming behind the two younger children.

Over the distance, Reisha can be seen rolling her eyes at the sight of Reine alongside Basuki and his siblings. She then let out a derisive  "hmp" at her general direction. Soon, all gifts were distributed and the revelry has moved on to the thank yous and testing part for some gifts.

Reine then soon pulled Basuki aside, out from the earshot of many.

"Hey Basuki...can you...uhm...sleep with me for the night?" Reine asked tentatively.

"A-auntie...are you...sure?" hesitated the teenager.

"Yes, nephew." she said firmly, gripping Basuki's arms. "Besides, everyone's gonna be so drunk anyway, nobody will know…" she added, sitting down to look at her nephew eye to eye. The contact sent jolts into Basuki's entire body. It maybe is just his dear auntie wanting someone to be with amongst the hostile crowd but…

"So, would you?" Reine repeated her question once more, putting her face near Basuki's. The teen swallowed at this gesture, feeling immense pressure. And then, something in him just clicked.

"Yes auntie, I would." he said, swallowing his nervousness down. A flurry of emotions whirled in his head, fully aware of the implications of this moment. "After all, how can I refuse my dear auntie, yeah?" he smiled nervously.

"Thanks a lot Basuki!" she said, hugging him. Basuki could feel his beloved aunt's body, especially her generously-sized breasts, which was cooking him mentally.

"Don't worry anon, I'll cover for your parents." assured Reine, as if to answer his unspoken question. As the sounds of revelry started to die down, aunt and nephew then began to change out of the clothes they had and into their nightclothes.

Basuki went first, being quite nervous and admittedly excited about the prospect of sleeping with his aunt. He was done after a light wash, and soon it was Reine's turn. After give or take 30 minutes, she was done, coming out with her own themed bathrobe.

Reine came out with a simple tee and shorts, tossing aside her robe.

“Hey Basuki, whatcha wanna play?” she asked, smiling.

"Your call, auntie!" Basuki smiled.
