Inclement Weather

Rescheduling lessons due to inclement weather will be determined at the discretion of the teacher and parents.  If travel conditions are deemed unsafe by either the teacher or parents, the need to cancel the lesson and reschedule must be communicated between these two parties.

Absence Policy

Private Instrument Lessons

It is imperative that parents and teachers follow the agreed-upon lesson schedule for the semester.  Our teachers have busy schedules and limited availability for make-up lessons.  Nevertheless, parents may reschedule their child’s lesson if advance notice is given when conflicts arise.  Advance notice is one week for non-emergencies.  In the event of an emergency (funeral, serious accident, etc.) or sickness, contact your teacher as soon as possible.  Teachers are not required to make-up lessons that are missed without proper notice.

In the event a lesson needs to be made up at a time that is different from the time agreed upon in the lesson schedule, the teacher will provide 2-3 alternate lesson times.  If the student cannot make any of those lesson times, the lesson will not be made up.   However, if the missed lesson is a result of the teacher’s emergency or sickness, the teacher will make every possible effort to make-up the missed lesson.

Teacher conflicts will be communicated at the start of the semester in the lesson schedule.  In the event of an emergency or sickness, your teacher will contact you as soon as the conflict is known and schedule a make-up lesson.

Beginner Instrument Classes & Ballet Classes

Students who miss a class will not be able to make-up the missed class since instruction is given to a group of students.  Teachers may choose to reschedule for the entire class if enough parents communicate their child will be absent.

Teacher conflicts will be communicated at the start of the semester in the class schedule.  In the event of an emergency or sickness, your teacher will contact you as soon as the conflict is known and schedule a make-up class.

Cancellation Policy

Students who discontinue lessons or classes before the semester ends should notify the BAC Director immediately (bluegrassartscollective@gmail.com).  Full payment of registration fee and attended lessons and classes is due.
