// Student Support + Student Services
As a student at dBs Berlin there are a number of ways that you may seek support, whether that’s for academic purposes or for more personal issues. This document outlines the appropriate routes that you can take, as well as information on the timetabled support sessions and tutorials that will be available throughout the year.
Student Services and General Enquiries
As the dBs Berlin Student Support, Hatay Yatkin is your first point of call for any issues that you may have inside or outside of school. She’s here to support you and will do her best to point you in the right direction. If you're struggling to find an apartment, looking for work or would like to seek help with personal issues, get in touch with her at student.support@dbsberlin.net
Advisor / Personal Tutor
Each class at dBs Berlin is allocated a personal tutor/advisor at the start of the term. This personal tutor will stay with you throughout the year and is available in class time if you have any problems. They can also refer you to the programme lead for any problems you might have with the course as a whole. For first year certificate students please note that your personal tutor/advisor is your allocated tutor for the development workshops. For 2nd or 3 year students your programme lead also serves as your personal tutor.
Class Representatives
At the start of each year, each class will elect two class representatives that will be responsible for representing their class at selected staff meetings throughout the year. The class reps are responsible for communicating feedback or questions from the class to the staffing team as a whole. Student reps are vital to maintaining communication between the programme team and the students and may also arrange meetings with the programme leader.
Academic Tutorials
One-to-one tutorial slots can be booked with the programme leader, or some of the tutors of your course once a month by emailing them. Please make use of these tutorials, they’re here to help you get the best out of your course!
These tutorial slots are not intended for technical demonstrations.

Student Support / Welfare
dBs Berlin has a database of independent support and counselling services to help with all kinds of problems. If you are having difficulties that go beyond what our support team will be able to help with, we are able to seek professional help. We will initially fund exploratory requirements and you will then need to rely on your medical health care provision to fund regular sessions.
