All Schools Open on Tuesday

All Ottawa Catholic School Board schools will be open on Tuesday, September 25th. This includes before and after school care programs, child care centres, school extracurricular activities, and the use of schools by the community.
Transportation:  Yellow busses and small vehicle transportation to schools will be running.
For the most up to date information on any changes or delays to bus transportation in your area, go to   Safety first:  Due to delays and anticipated disruptions to service in certain areas, students should not be left unaccompanied during pick up or drop off at any bus stop until the school transportation vehicle has arrived. Caution should be exercised for all students who walk to school.
We thank our community for its patience and ask for continued prayers for those in affected communities.

Vulnerable Sector Checks for Volunteers

Beginning this month, volunteers working with students in the OCSB must complete a vulnerable sector check. This includes parents and other volunteers taking part in field trips, those working with students in schools, and those volunteering at events where they may be in isolation with students even for a brief period of time (eg., meeting in a small area to distribute food/beverages). Please note that there are three types of Criminal Record Checks; Level 1: Criminal Record Check (CRC) Level 2: Criminal Record Check and Judicial Matters Check (CRJM) Level 3: Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) Anyone over 18 who wishes to take part in a volunteer opportunity in a school must complete a Level 3 Vulnerable Sector Check.
There are two options for competing a vulnerable sector check:
1. In person –
 Details can be found here
2. Online –
 Details can be found here
Please note we have letters at the office that will waive the fee for you so long as it is not a same day record check. Please contact the school if interested and we will send one home for you. We have been told that the quickest way to receive you vulnerable sector check is through the online application. Currently, it takes about two weeks to receive the completed check. Please give us a copy of your criminal record check once completed and we will create a database. Thank you for taking the time to have this completed as we will always need volunteers!

School Cash Online/Council News

School Cash Online is up and running The student activity fees can now be paid using this online payment system. We will also be using School Cash Online for our school food programs (Subway, pizza, hot dogs). The ordering information for these food programs has been posted on School Cash Online. All new families are invited to sign up for School Cash Online, it takes very little time.

Council is looking for volunteers to help out with food programs. Contact to get more information on how you can help out. A reminder that all volunteers require the vulnerable sector check described above.

School Council will be having their next meeting on Tuesday, October 9th at 6:30pm in the Learning Commons. The Council looks forward to continuing to welcome new parents.

Soccer Tournaments

Our girls soccer team had a very successful tournament on Thursday, September 20th. They had a great time and represented the school very well. The boys soccer team is looking forward to playing in their tournament on Thursday, September 27th. Go Cubs!
