Section

A section is a series of questions that are linked to each other. They can be used in an exam as 'an assessment within the assessment', with its own question sequence, timer and pass mark if chosen.

Learning objective

Brief statements that describe what students are expected to learn. Used in QuestUP as part of Extended Blueprint for randomisation of questions in an assessment. Before it can be used in items, they must be added to the system by a member of the CBT team.

Taxonomy

Usually Bloom’s Taxonomy. Other Taxonomies may be added to the system on request. Used in QuestUP as part of Extended Blueprint for randomisation of questions in an assessment

Topic

Item authors use topics to categorise Items, add information about difficulty levels, subjects or themes. May be used to create random assessments with simplified blueprints.

Dichotomous marking

Students must answer everything correctly to get the max score. When answered partially correctly, the candidate will score 0.

Polytomous marking

Gives a partial score when the candidate answers the question partially correct. Equal distribution of marks among question distractors

Pages are used to give instructions to students at the start or end of an assessment. There are 4 types of pages: Welcome, Finish, NDA and Registration form. Welcome and Finish pages are required for each Form.
