PG SiS (MPhil/Ph.D.) - Guidelines to be used in the System

  1. MPhil Applicant - Faculty of Science, University of Colombo
  1. Applicants should apply by using a Google account for the MPhil Program.

  1. The following Application Form will appear to apply with the required fields.

  1. The draft version of the application form can be downloaded to show it to his/her supervisors to check whether it is okay.

  1. After the approval of the supervisors, the final version of the application form can be downloaded once you click the Finish button.
  2. *Please note that once you click the Finish button, You will not be able to edit the application form.
  3. The system will generate the application number (PG-XXXX) and display it in the Final version of the Application form.

  1. The Downloaded application of the Final version (with the relevant signature up to the Head of the Department) should be submitted to the Dean’s Office, Faculty of Science, University of Colombo to get approval from the Higher Degree Committee (HDC).
  2. The Accepted/ Rejected application by the HDC will be informed to the applicant through his/her private email by the Senior Assistant Registrar, Faculty of Science, University of Colombo.

  1. Rejected Application by the HDC:
  1. You can contact your supervisors to re-apply for the MPhil program through the system.

  1. Accepted Application by the HDC:
  1. The accepted applicant will receive another email with a letter from the Academic and Publications, University of Colombo to be registered for the MPhil program.
  2. Applicant should visit with relevant documents in mentioned the letter to the Academic and Publications, University of Colombo to be registered for the MPhil program and get the Registration number.
  3. Once the registration is completed, the applicant will receive a confirmation email and create a university email account by the Network Operation Centre (NOC), University of Colombo.
  4. Once registered MPhil students receive the credentials of the university email account from the NOC, University of Colombo through his/her private email.
  5. Then you can “Sign in with Google” to the FMS by using your university email.
