Course

Teacher

Here is what’s happening this week!

ELA

Steve Specht

Spring is in the air, and the challenge for us all is to remain focused and engaged while at school. Students will be doing independent reading and analysis as part of the preparation for End of Grade  testing. You might ask them what they are reading and encourage them to be active, inquisitive readers.

We are continuing our focus on spelling improvement ,as well as participating in class discussion of our readings ,and poetry writing.

THANKS for your continued support. It won't be long before you will have a 7th grader!

Math

Katie Nolan

We started our statistics project last week. The due dates are as follows:

Part 1: Collect 30 pieces of Data Due 4-23

Part 2: Histogram and Frequency Table Due 4-30

Box Plot- Mean, Median, and Mode Due 5-7

Part 3: Interpreting Due 5-14

Part 4: Presenting Due 5-21

Please check in with your child about their statistics project

Students are graded on Delta Math, Google classroom assignments, and homework assignments. To see up-to-date information and check their progress in math, ask them to show you their delta math class assignments from home to see how they are doing. They can show you where they upload their classwork and homework assignments in Google Classroom.  They need to use their IC Imagine Google account to log in. They can complete Delta Math assignments at home.

Our gallery show opening was this week and it was a wonderful success. 43 students had their decks selected to be a part of the gallery in Push. It’ll be up for the next two weeks.

Now we are preparing for our Biltmore field trip which will take place next Wednesday. We will be making art en plein air on the grounds of the house. It should be a wonderful day.
