They crept deeper into the dark forest trying to find their fathers key and after lengthy searching process they found the key. They crept back home to go down to the darkest place they ever stepped foot in… The basement.
It was the darkest place at midnight which was the perfect place for their secret doorway since no one bothered to go down there since it was never light so they lit their lanterns and tip-toed down the stairs and reached their hand out for the handle, took grip and slightly turned the handle. The handel was very old so it made a crunching sound when it turned
spooked that their parents would wake up at the sound they held their breath when they heard nothing they breathed out.Little did their Mother Know was that the mysterious door in their basement was a portal to the castle and their father has the key Yet he didn't know that they went in there every night
Time was running out! They only had a matter of minutes. This side of the portal closed at 3:00 So they had to go in straight away. They grabbed each others hands and leaped into the portal.Once out of the portal they stood outside the forbidden tower or so the other kids said But it took a long time to get through the forest so they used the portal and the other kids didn't go near it due it being cursed! Or at least that's they saidThe other kids called it The forbidden tower because dark essence just poured and oozed out out of it like a pitcher from the outside but only three people knew how nice and kind it felt inside. It almost felt like home to the twins so that's why they always came every night so they pulled out the key to open the door and almost made to the door when… The kindly old witch who lived there burst open the door and welcomed the twins inside for some apple juice. Her pet crow was perched on her shoulder, it’s regal feathers shimmered in the moonlight It’s gaze narrowed toward the key the boy had in his hand It’s talons crunched together as if it were angry, He felt uneverd from the bird as it’s gaze slowly towered up to him.His sister however didn’t seem to care about the bird at all as she danced toward the door,As he started to slowly accompanied his sister but when all of a sudden the crow shrieked and made the boy cover his ears but made him drop the key then a raven from outside snached it up in his beak and flew around the house. The witch was shocked but snapped out of her shock and chased the raven on her broom. Hours had passed and now it was 6:00 Their parents would wake up soon and wonder where they were they had to get that key!..The raven’s wings drooped and the raven dropped the key Everyone gasped. The witch flew down to grab the key, It was an inch away when the crow snached the key in it’s beak The witch had been chasing it all day. Now, the crow had it.The twins couldn’t believe what just happened, The crow just stole the key from them now they were stuck there, The witch tried her best to catch the midnight feathered bird using spells and using other birds to try and persuade him to give it back but nothing worked. Outside there was a raging storm.the twins felt like the weather reflected their mood surprise and anger. The crow swirled around the room crashing into vases dropping them on the floor ruining the beautiful flowers the witch had spent long afternoons on.The mean spirited bird seemed to laugh at that and then after a few minutes it closed it eyes and a light seemed to emit from underneath the boy noticed this and before he could think about it the potion room door burst open and the potions came flying out they flew after the witch and splashed on top of her, she coughed and sputtered and fell off her broom. The boy gasped while his sister couldn’t believe her eyes and panicked trying to run underneath the witch to try and catch her but the witch had a different look on her face... a slanted smile. She whistled and her broom came rushing after her and caught her mid air.Potions still racing after her the witch she had a look of determination on her as her shimmering silver eyes narrowed as a potion sped toward her she jumped up grabbing the potions flew toward the bird and threw the potion toward the bird and all we heard was a splash then a whistle then a thump we stared at the bird half burned completely dead.Their adventure with the bad bird was now over giving the power to grab the key from the beak of the mean midnight bird the three sighed relieved that the bird was finally dead. The twins had come home at the end of this adventure they just managed to get home in time for their parents to not know they were gone, “so what did you dream about” their father asked at breakfast “ oh witches, crow and…” she looked at her brother as they exchanged glances “Keys” they said at the same time.As for the witch She embarked on a journey across the ocean promising the twin to come back soon.
