Canvas Dashboard Missing Classes
This document will detail what to do if your Canvas Dashboard is missing classes you are registered for.
Is the Course Published?
The most common reason for your class not showing up on your dashboard is the course has been set up by your teacher, but it has not yet been set to “published”.
Check Published Status in Canvas
How to Check Published Status in Canvas:
- If the course has not been published, nobody within the course will be able to access it. You will need to reach out to your instructor to have them set the course to “published”.
- You can still view unpublished courses by opening the Courses tab from the left side of your screen and clicking “All Courses.”

- All current and past enrollments will appear on this list whether they are published or not. Current enrollments appear at the top with unpublished courses slightly grayed out and with a “No” in the far right column. (later-term courses you have already registered for will appear farther down in the list under “Future Enrollments”)

- If your course still does not show up, respond on your already existing IT Help Desk ticket (if you have one) and let us know your courses still do not appear, or open up a new ticket with the same information.
