The National Registry of EMTs (NREMT) requires you to complete 40 hours of continuing education every two (2) years.

20 CEUs for the National Component

Answers to All Your Questions

Will this meet all of the requirements for my NREMT recertification?

Yes! Inside your learning path, we will assign you 40 CEUs of continuing education courses that you must complete for your recertification.

Since the NREMT is not requiring live education for those recertifying in 2022, we have removed it from our course requirements.

Is this course accredited?

Yes! All IA MED courses are accredited by Commission on Accreditation for Pre-Hospital Continuing Education (CAPCE), meaning you can apply your credits earned to most state and national certifications.

Does this course have any live education?

Our EMT Refresher course does not have any live education within the course requirements.

Due to the NREMT removing the distributive education limits those students with NREMT certifications expiring in 2022 can recertify completely with online only education.

NREMT Distributive Education Update

“Distributive Education limits removed for the recertification cycle ending March 31, 2022 (EMT, AEMT, Paramedic) and September 30, 2022 (EMR).

All EMTs, AEMTs and Paramedics due to recertify on March 31, 2022, will have no limits on Distributive Education. The same will apply to EMRs due to recertify on September 30, 2022. This allows all Continuing Education to be accomplished online through any state-accepted or CAPCE-accredited program or education site. Of course, in-person continuing education will also be accepted.”
