Description
The Eastern Intercollegiate Ski Association (EISA), the east’s top-tier NCAA Division I Skiing conference, seeks a Media Intern to create and publish content to the EISA blog and social media feeds following each of the season’s Nordic Skiing races - in addition to a season preview, a regional award recap and an NCAA Championship article.
The Media Intern is required to attend all conference races: There are two days of racing each weekend, spread over seven weeks. Races take place throughout New England in Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, and western Massachusetts. There is no requirement to attend the NCAA Championships.
Races generally take place on Friday and Saturday. There is a possibility of a Sunday race.
Responsibilities
Be on site
Be on site for the six EISA carnival weekends from the evening prior to the first event through the completion of the final event.
Publish Race Recaps
Publish race recaps with accompanying photos to the EISA website and social media accounts after each EISA race and NCAA Championship race. Recaps should be posted by 7pm.
Distribute Race Recaps
Distribute race recaps to the appropriate media outlets and to SIDs at member institutions.
Take Photos
Take photos at each EISA Carnival and NCAA’s.
Post Skiers of the Week
Post skiers of the week to the EISA website. (most points for the weekend without repeating athletes)
Post EISA awards
Post EISA awards to the EISA website after the Regional Championship.
Produce a season preview
Produce a season preview article prior to the start of the EISA season.
Produce a season review
Produce a season review article after the NCAA Championships.
Compensation
Stipend
EISA will provide a stipend of $3875 for the season (1/2 paid by January 18th, 2022 and the remainder paid by March 15th, 2022)
Lift Tickets
Lift tickets and trail passes for each day of racing are provided by Carnival host institution.
PLEASE NOTE: This is a part-time position with a duration of 2.5 months.
