Lunches

Parent request that for children taking school meals, the parents and children choose their meal in advance (to ensure everyone has a meal, and less waste).

Children are given the choice to promote independence. There is a rota of which classes go first to ensure all children have equal access to first preference. On a small number of occasions, the kitchen run out of a menu choice.

It would be a significant amount of administration for Hazel and Tracey to ask parents to make choices in advance. Plan will be to continue with lunches as they are for now.

Mrs Cran also confirmed very little waste (mainly on a Friday when people select a packed lunch but don’t take it).

Shoes

Discussed possibility of children having outdoor and indoor shoes (e.g. plimsols for indoor).

Mrs Cran said field only used when it hasn’t rained for some time (if its wet, use the tarmac areas).  Waterproofs are available for children and they are encouraged to wear them if playing games where they might get muddy.

Previously had an indoor / outdoor shoe system but this took too much (learning) time.

Wildside Nature School

https://www.wildsidenature.com/

Kristiana will ask about prices and share with Mrs Cran.

Other

P6/7 students are planning a careers event for 11 March (1.30-2.45). Letter will be issued soon.

Coaches for Camps

Previously agreed that each class should individually raise funds to cover coaches.

A reminder will sent to parent class WhatsApp groups.

School Garden – Belinda

Belinda has been in to P4/5 class the past three weeks on a Wednesday after lunchtime and done some presentations on plants and gardening (another class next week). Mrs Cran has ordered two compost bins and some compost to refresh the raised beds.
