Turn A VS Taranis Table of Contents
Wiz: War, a tragedy that can seep into the lives of many. Unfortunately, even those who never intend to join.
Boomstick: But these powerful machines definitely can stop any war that crosses their path!
Wiz: Right, like the Turn A Gundam; The White Doll
Boomstick: And The Taranis; The Fortress of Steel
Wiz: I’m Wiz and he’s Boomstick and it’s our job to analyze their weapons, armor, and skills to find out who would win a Death Battle.
Wiz: The Moon… one of the few universal things connecting all humans, and a first step in our journey throughout the stars. But what if it was the only step humanity could take? In the year Correct Century 2345, a surviving subsect of humanity known as the Moonrace lived on the Moon for thousands of years, and was now facing a crisis.
Boomstick: See, the Moon was basically in a sort of stagnation despite their technology, so they decided to make plans to get the hell out of there.
Wiz: But before their migration, scouts were gathered and trained in order to examine the habitability of the Earth, one of these scouts was a boy named Loran Cehack. Born in a fishing village, Loran initially spent his days helping his archaeologist father in digging jobs with a construction Mobile Suit.
Boomstick: But unfortunately, his killjoy extended family was like, “No… he can’t pilot robots like that…” and Loran was left with his uncle and aunt as his father went out and never returned. *Sniff God damn it man…
Wiz: Despite being in the care of his new family, they would unfortunately die, leaving Loran all alone. But he wouldn’t be alone for too long, inspired by the Queen’s Earth plan, Loran would join the scouts and eventually meet his best friends Keith and Fran. After years of training and an alien encounter, Loran would finally be sent to Earth.
Boomstick: Why was Earth being seeked out like an alien planet? See, Loran and his buds were sent to the Earth as an apocalyptic event just passed over on Earth. Like dung beetles after a massive shitstorm.
Wiz: That’s… a certain way to put it. Anyway, it turned out however that people were still living there and even recovered to the Industrial Age.
Boomstick: After a skinny dip gone wrong, Loran was saved by a rich family named the Heims, who Loran would be indebted to and would work as a chauffeur.
Wiz: This 2 year period allowed Loran to befriend the family daughters Kihel and Sochie, and allowed Loran to experience Earth, growing to love its people.
Boomstick: But of course things can’t be peachy for too long as the Moonrace came to shoot up the place, like Mama Boomstick after too many drinks.
Wiz: Specifically, it was the Dianacounter, the Queen’s personal defense force who grew impatient with the colonization efforts and attacked the city of Noctis. In the midst of the chaos, a ceremonial statue nearby began to crumble, revealing itself to be a white robot… the Turn A!
Boomstick: Not to judge, but what’s with the mustache? It looks like a forgotten Eggman mech.
Wiz: It’s just an aesthetic choice, plus its facial hair didn’t make it any less effective against the Moonrace forces. With that very attack, a tense standoff formed between the native Terrans, and the recently settled Moonrace. Soon the Inglessa militia soon militarized and discovered buried mobile suits.
Boomstick: Yet nothing could match the sheer power of the Turn A, after all it’s a Gundam! And not just any Gundam, it’s probably one of the most powerful ones out there!
Wiz: That’s right Boomstick. The Turn A boasts an impressive arsenal in spite of its age. It wields the Beam Rifle, a gun that uses special Minovsky particles to unleash a powerful sublight particle beam that melts through practically anything. This fire power allows the Turn A to even destroy massive battleships.
Boomstick: Now that’s what I’m talking about, this tech also applies to its two Beam Sabers, basically giant bootleg Lightsabers. Besides cutting, the Turn A can spin these things so fast it creates a makeshift beam shield that can block any projectile.
Wiz: For a proper defensive option, the Turn A’s shield “turns” the tide of battle… Eh Boomstick?
Boomstick: Stick to your lane Wizard.
Wiz: Ahem… Right, so the shield isn’t just a regular shield, it also contains special I-Field generators that can block other beam weapons and other forces like shockwaves. This comes at the cost of defense against physical rounds and missiles. Fun fact, it’s those same I-Fields that allow the Turn A it’s ability to propel in the air.
Boomstick: And it’s not like the Turn A itself is lacking in fire power. In its chest is a multipurpose silo that contains things like missile launchers, grenades, and even nuclear bombs though those have been disposed of so no Fallout scenarios here. In its abdomen it features a scattering beam gun capable of even passing through those fancy I-Fields. It also has the Gundam Hammer which is a fricking rocket propelled flail.
Wiz: What dumbass designed that? They must have had oxygen deprived from their brain. (This references Tem Ray, the creator of the RX-78 Gundam and its arsenal. After a colony explosion left him stuck in space, he went crazy and just went around collecting junk parts for the Gundam).
Boomstick: I mean it was used effectively, so who’s the oxygen deprived one now, huh Wiz?
Wiz: Ugh… anyway, the most fascinating aspect to me is its armor, which consists of a layer of Nanoskin, nanomachines that can protect and repair the unit at the molecular level. This is how it was able to survive for thousands of years without maintenance. Powering all this equipment is the DHGCP or Discontinuous Hyperoscillation Gauge Collapsing Pile which is literally an artificial black hole generator. Such amounts of energy allows the Turn A to even teleport! Albeit inconsistently.
Boomstick: Jesus! What were the creators of this thing smoking!?
Wiz: Probably Polystyrene fumes. (Referencing the common plastic type Gunpla is made of). Anyway, with Loran fighting on the Militia’s side, the Turn A’s power allowed the Militia to survive against the technologically superior Moonrace Mobile Suits.
Boomstick: This included the Wodom, whose mega beam cannon could wipe off a whole city.
Wiz: This durability is in line with the time the Turn A blocked a nuclear explosion from two nukes. At minimum that is like 3 megatons.
Boomstick: Loran isn’t a slouch either; his skill allowed him to keep up with Moonrace aces like the Royal Guard Harry Ord and the crazy elite soldier Corrin Nander, who destroyed an entire city.
Wiz: The Turn A also boasts impressive strength, such as tossing the 40 meter tall Wodom, or having enough thrust to push back massive spaceships like the Willgem or the Gendarme. This thrust grants the Turn A amazing speed, allowing it to out maneuver other Mobile Suits like the Somo or the Mahiroo. This speed also extends to Loran himself, who not only can react to these Mobile Suits, but also their beam weapons, which being sublight beams, would give him at least sub-relativistic reaction time.
Boomstick: Loran’s exploits basically turned him into a symbol for the Militia. Turning the boy into a tool to inspire the Inglessians in their fight against those dirty Moonies.
Wiz: But don’t mistake Loran as a hateful soldier. At heart, he’s someone that just wants to help others, and make the Earth a place both the Terrans and Moonrace can live in. Even going as far as preventing battles from escalating between the two factions. And despite its immense power, Loran uses the Turn A to help in more… mundane ways like herding cows and doing laundry.
Boomstick: Look Wiz, if I had a giant robot, I would make ANY excuse to use it. And that wasn’t the only thing Loran scored by using it.
Wiz: Right as due to the tensions between the two groups, the Queen of the Moon, Diana Soriel, descended in order to alleviate tensions with the Earth. Here she would meet Kihel Heim, and coincidentally they would have the same appearance.
Boomstick: And so, the two ladies pulled a princess and the pauper and switched places. You’d think people would catch on, but the two slipped in pretty well. Here Diana was able to experience the life of a normal lady, and learned how bad the conflict really was.
Wiz: Being so distant from humanity in more ways than one made Diana yearn for something truer. Years of cryosleep made her practically immortal, and that artificiality was why she decided to have the Moonrace immigrate back to the Earth. And with her identity as “Kihel Heim”, she was able to live that truer life, in part due to Loran.
Boomstick: Eventually, Loran would find out the truth, shocked about how unobservant he was about two women he cared about. However, something deeper came from that, what started as a fan admiring his idol became that of a real friendship.
Wiz: By inadvertently being with her, Loran would learn more about Diana not as the Queen, but as a hard working and strong woman. After finding out the truth, Loran would continue to work alongside her to help prevent further conflict between the Earth and Moon.
Boomstick: Loran would also end up discovering more about himself… Sort of…
Wiz: Right, in the alternate continuity of the Harutoshi Fukui Novels, Loran would discover his place as a Newtype, an evolved human, whose empathic and telepathic power would manifest in space.
Boomstick: Aren’t those the “souls not weighted by gravity” people?
Wiz: That’s more of a metaphor, the true nature of Newtypes are actually unknown, besides that they evolved as a way for humans to better understand each other.
Boomstick: And also for killing it seems. Throughout Gundam, Newtypes were weaponized, and can interface with powerful technology. One of those being on the Turn A, the Psycommu System.
Wiz: This amplification system, reads and transmits the "psycho waves” of a Newtype, allowing for control of drone-like Funnels and even performing "miracles”... somehow.
Boomstick: Like in those novels where in order to block a space cannon, Loran pulled a Spirit Bomb, and drew energy from all beings on the Earth to create a massive several kilometer I-Field barrier to block it.
Wiz: Going back to main canon now… Soon the real Kihel was kidnapped by a member of the Agrippa faction, who in the absence of the Queen, took over the Moon alongside the militant Ghingham Fleet.
Boomstick: So one spaceship later, the Militia gave chase and arrived on the Moon.
Wiz: Here was where they found out about the true nature of the Dark History, and the horror of the Turn A. The Dark History was in fact the previous Gundam timelines, in which after thousands of years of warfare, humanity would produce their ultimate weapon, the Turn A. Even the island destroying and Space Colony busting Gundams of yester-year paled in comparison. Equipped on it was the Moonlight Butterfly, a swarm of nanomachines that can destroy inorganic matter, absorb energy, block attacks, and create devastating plasma storms that can leave lands uninhabitable for thousands of years. After a battle with the equally destructive Turn X, the Turn A would lay waste to the planet, killing billions and resetting the Earth to the stone age.
Boomstick: Jesus… with a weapon that terrifying, that mustachioed face now seems a whole lot more sinister.
Wiz: With the planet now at stake thanks to the revival of the Turn X, the Militia and Diana Counter commenced a truce in order to protect the world.
Boomstick: Yeah so the Turn X’s pilot, Gym Ghingham, was a soldier in an era without war, so he was going to use the Turn X to reset the planet and make a world he can play soldier in. Not wanting the world he worked so hard to protect destroyed, Loran fought Gym in battle that seemed even beyond time itself.
Wiz: And so, the Turn A and Turn X would both be severely damaged in their fight, with the two’s Moonlight Butterfly wrapping the two units, forming a cocoon. With that, the world could rest easy.
Boomstick: And Loran was finally able to live that peaceful life he wanted. He and Diana would move to a cabin in the woods and lived happily together. Good for him.
Wiz: And so with the whole world ahead of them, let’s hope that their future is not as dark as their history.
Wiz: In the free lands of Gasco, lies the peaceful town of Petit Mona. Here, you’ll find a young shepard, Malt Marzipan and his friends, enjoying the idyllic countryside.
Boomstick: But everything changed when the furry Nazis attacked.
Wiz:... right. So these were the Bermans, an empire of fascistic canines who were hellbent in winning their war with their neighbor Gasco. The naive inhabitants didn’t think their backwater town would be any value to these soldiers.
Boomstick: Wiz, they are furry Nazis, it would be more strange if they didn’t make an example of the small towns. And like Nazis, they started rounding up the folks and sent them to camps.
Wiz: But before the children could be captured, a mysterious voice called upon them, leading them to a cave. Here, they would discover their saving grace, the Taranis.
Boomstick: With this beast of a machine they blasted the Bermans out of their town, and went on a journey to save their families.
Wiz: Along the way, they met many more kids they ended up recruiting, forming a merry band… or squad of child soldiers, pick your poison.
Boomstick: Those youngsters were affected by the war in some way like my boy Jin who’s dad was murdered by this baddie named Flam Kish.
Wiz: Or Britz, a Berman child soldier, whose dad was a spy for Gasco and was killed, shaming his family.
Boomstick: Damn that’s depressing, maybe thinking about murdering those assholes will take my mind off that. Each kid is specialized in one of three weapon types, having specific abilities tied to said weapon. Like machine guns, which focus on anti-air combat and chips away armor.
Wiz: Or grenade launchers, which focus on grounded foes and dealing status effects.
Boomstick: Or my favorite, cannons, which are chunky damage dealers that just rip through enemies.
Wiz: Speaking of the children, they each stand out with unique skills like Malt focusing on strong single target damage, or Britz’s focus on stunning foes.
Boomstick: There’s also Sheena who straight up knows magic.
Wiz: Nono actually… Despite seeming like magic it actually is more like science, using nanomachines in the air to perform “spells”.
Boomstick: Wiz… that’s magic, you can’t just go “nanomachines son” when you got a 10 year old making earthquakes and sucking energy like a vampire.
Wiz: I mean, advanced enough science is indistinguishable from magic.
Boomstick: Whatever you say… I mean explain Hero Modes.
Wiz: Right, in the tank are those nanomachines which besides auto-repairing the tank, can also respond to the emotions of the children, enhancing their abilities.
Boomstick: So magic… These “magical” powers include destroying all armor and delaying a target, double damage, critical hits for all attacks and so on, although only a certain kid can have one specific ability.
Wiz: Adding on, this also extends to Link Attacks, powerful combo attacks performed by the Gunner and a Support. These attacks grant some sort of a perk to the tank, and can be enhanced by the kids growing their bonds.
Boomstick: With all these weapons and powers it's no wonder they steamrolled the Bermans.
Wiz: However it wasn’t enough… When the situation gets hopeless, the children have to resort… To the Soul Cannon. This monstrous weapon is as powerful as it is horrific. When one child sacrifices themselves in the Soul Chamber, it fires a massive beam of energy that destroys anything in its path.
Boomstick: It’s a quick painless death… right?
Wiz: No Boomstick… no it isn’t…
Boomstick: Damn…
Wiz: Which is why it was imperative that they never use it. Until they do, but we’ll get there.
Boomstick: God that’s grim, well at least they managed to save their parents.
Wiz: That’s not the only thing they’ve done. They were able to fight hundreds of Berman forces, including seasoned aces like Colonel Pretzel, Von Baum, Von Stollen, and even General Hax himself, the leader of the Berman armed forces and user of the similarly powerful Taracus, a Berman made tank similar to the Taranis. They’ve also dodged light based Juno weapons, which is in line with other Tail Bronx characters like Red and Chocolat.
Boomstick: Speaking of Hax, it turns out his true plan was to get a massive kaiju superweapon called the Vanargand, which was hidden in the Gasco capital and he was gonna get that giant robot.
Wiz: This was where the truth was revealed, that the Vanargand was actually a remnant of the Old World, Earth. As it turns out, the Vanargand was a Titanomachina, mountain-sized superweapons gifted to humanity by an informational system called the Juno, alongside other advanced technologies like clean energy crystals and such. This supposed blessing quickly soured as war broke out, nearly ravaging the planet. In order to preserve Earth, all life on the planet was digitized and all Titanomachina was sealed away for thousands of years.
Boomstick: To make things even more depressing it also turned out that the voice helping the kids were just using them in her actual goal of destroying this beast.
Wiz: Right, the Taranis was actually built to destroy Titanomachina, and was equipped with an AI named Jeanne. However, during the time sealed, she was reawoken, now split into two beings, an emotional side, and logical side.
Boomstick: This “logical” side decided that if she can’t find the Vanargand, then she was going to have someone else do it. This involved manipulating a young Hax into being obsessed with the weapon, and having him attack Gasco, then get some disposable kids to control the Taranis in order to destroy that kaiju once and for all.
Wiz: Despite overwhelming odds, the children decided to stick to their guns, and fight the Vanargand, not that it would be easy as it was a Joker class Juno. Basically making it one of the top classes of Juno weapons. This is impressive as weaker Titanomachina like Lares and Lemures are already able to shake off country busting orbital lasers. Even more impressive being that in a weakened state, it was still able to tear apart the entire country of Gasco which is about the size of current day France.
Boomstick: With everyone by their side, they were able to defeat the Vanargand by defeating the Taracus, now the Vanargand’s core. Despite this the only way they could truly destroy Hax for good was the Soul Cannon. In the end, the kids said fuck it, they was going to use it. This time with no sacrifices and through the power of friendship and an external power source, the kids fired a golden beam at Hax, ending that Nazi fuck for good.
Wiz: With the Vanargand seeming done for, the now remerged Jeanne said her goodbyes before shutting down, and the children could finally live in peace… Or so it seemed. One year after the war the kids were called up to perform tests on the Taranis. This back fired and the Taranis ended up controlling and stealing half the children, leaving the rest to fight back in a reconstructed Taracus and its AI reconstruction of Hax.
Boomstick: As it turned out, that “external source” I mentioned was a fucking child.
Wiz: This was Jihl, an artificial lifeform dubbed a “hybrid” and was used in horrific experiments by the creators of the Taranis, named Crusade. In their fight against the Juno and its destruction of Earth, they built two tanks, the Taranis and the Belenos.
Boomstick: But due to reasons, the Belenos was shelved and Jihl was sent out as a human battery for the Taranis. Due to his uh… physiology, he could experience the “wonderful” world of being killed over and over again, while also being a child soldier because fuck this kid I guess.
Wiz: But before he could be sacrificed, his mother figure, an unnamed engineer woman, took her life instead so Jihl could have a chance to live. But it was in vain as the world Reset and Jihl was sealed for thousands of years. Now reawakened, Jihl felt nothing but hatred and was ready for vengeance.
Boomstick: After being contacted by a mysterious benefactor, he took the Taranis and some of the kids for his true goal, the Belenos.
Wiz: With Jihl rampaging through Gasco, the kids and AI Hax fought their way through Jihl’s army of "Geist” drones and managed to save most of the children.
Boomstick: Almost… in the middle of saving Hanna, Jihl shot a beam at the two tanks, killing Hanna and leaving the crew in shock.
Wiz: The loss was especially hard on Malt, who as the oldest, prided himself on his ability to protect his friends and the responsibility that brings. And now, one of his best friends is dead, and he couldn’t do anything about it. As Malt changed so did the Taranis as it responded to the children’s grief and changed into the Exo-Taranis showcasing its ability to evolve.
Boomstick: Now depressed and angry, Malt led the charge against Jihl and wanted to KILL him. In his rage he messed up and ended as fodder for the Soul Cannon, killing him. But instead of finding himself in the afterlife, he found himself in a weirder place.
Wiz: This was the Deep Depths, a mysterious place beyond time and space which can be accessed by certain individuals. Including a mysterious masked man named Maestro, who took an interest in Malt and appears to have had watched him since the war. Here, Malt was further versed in his secret ability to manipulate timelines and look into the future.
Boomstick: Basically, Malt can “see” an alternate timeline where he died and to him looks like a vision he can use to change the current timeline. Basically that movie Edge of Tomorrow if Tom Cruise was a furry child. Using that ability, Malt was able to prevent more terrible fates like that of Hanna’s and managed to take the fight to Jihl.
Wiz: As the children fought, the truth about Jihl was revealed to them, and also that Hanna wasn’t quite as dead as they thought.
Boomstick: When Hanna died she got turned into an AI kind of like Hax, and basically was hanging out with Jihl in order to reach out to him.
Wiz: Even more surprising was the true mastermind behind this whole scheme, Cayenne. After losing his family to the Bermans he swore revenge and used Jihl to get the Belenos, a tank that with its restoration power, could revive the Vanargand and be used to destroy Berman. He even pretended to be the President and after killing him and his wife in a car accident, and faked being the father to their child Vanilla.
Boomstick: What the fuck… that’s messed up.
Wiz: With the Vanargand reawakened, the kids went on to fight their giant foe once more. Now restored to its full strength, the beast destroyed massive chunks of the Gasco army and seemed invincible.
Boomstick: But like the superhero, it really wasn’t. After another hardfought battle, in order to put down the Vanargand down for good, Hax of all people decided to put down his own life and the Taracus’ energy to use the Soul Cannon.
Wiz: Throughout the fighting and intermissions, this AI Hax managed to do something that the original Hax never had, compassion. Him protecting the kids became more than just a protocol he had to follow, it was a true act of love.
Boomstick: Even that good for nothing Nazi maybe did have some good in him after all. After another golden beam, the Vanargand was finally put down for good, in part due to Jihl who thanks to Hanna was also able to do some good and wrangled the Belenos enough to allow the shot to happen. He even gave up his own life to restore Hanna back to her body, in order for her to live on like his Mama to him.
Wiz: But even with the Vanargand dead, the kids couldn’t rest for long.
Boomstick: Yeah, literally the next day, Malt awoke to strange sounds coming from the Taranis’ old cave and found the Taranis. This was weird since they threw that thing off an island to be destroyed. Joining it were four of the Berman goons, the Crimson Knight, led by Malt’s… brother?
Wiz: That’s Ash, Malt’s estranged older brother and the one responsible for killing their parents. Malt was now confronted by one of his biggest fears.
Boomstick: Not being the oldest anymore?
Wiz: No! Facing his parent’s murderer and telling Mei about it. And unfortunately, Malt would be kidnapped by the Bermans’ emperor Leber Kaiser and used as bait where he watched the newly reformed Bermans invade his land and for his friends to die in said conflict, all while tied up and ball gagged.
Boomstick: Wiz… That’s a kid…
Wiz: Sigh… That’s right, Boomstick. Thankfully Malt would avoid that fate as that was just one of many timelines he experienced as he ended up back at the Berman prison he was stuck at.
Boomstick: In the meantime, Malt’s friends found out about his kidnapping and said “screw that bait, that's our damn friend" and went for it.
Wiz: Guarding the heart of the Berman homeland were an army of spell enhanced forces and the Crimson Knights who with their own powerful spells and mechs were a match for the now normal Taranis.
Boomstick: But it wouldn’t be normal for long. During a battle with the psychic… Psyche, wow real original, the Taranis evolved again into the knight-like Omega Taranis. This beauty was equipped with so much stuff, like teleportation, item materialization, the ability to set bomb traps, absorb defeated enemies as energy and even fly.
Wiz: Assisting the children this time was Cathie, a cat… regular cat AI that seemingly appeared and helped them in their quest. Not only that, it wasn’t just the Taranis that changed; During the fight with Crimson Knight Pryok, Mei would discover that like her brother, she also had future vision. This future vision of hers besides granting the same properties as her brother’s, can also reach to other timelines, basically overwriting other’s future vision. This was shown in the fight against good ole Ash.
Boomstick: During that fight we find out that Ash can also look into the future, which he uses in combat to predict enemy movements. Even the more experienced Ash was unable to predict Mei’s visions which made Mei incredibly important.
Wiz: That was not all as having access to the vision not only allowed Mei access to the Deep Depths, but gave her the Akasha Panel, basically an accessible timeline that allows Mei to visit different points in time, including a place known as the Phantom Village.
Boomstick: This ironically not ghost town is basically a past version of Petit Mona where Mei and later Malt can interact with past inhabitants and even get items from, there are even people that feel suspiciously familiar hmmm…
Wiz: Ignoring that… It wasn’t just Mei who unlocked new abilities, in Malt’s absence each child developed a “Leader Skill” abilities that can activate during battles that provide different bonuses after a certain requirement. Originally only used by Malt due to his status as the leader (sorry Wappa), with him gone, the children had to step up, allowing them to gain these abilities. Not just that, they also received help as well.
Boomstick: Introducing, Assist Characters, while most are outside help, few key assists are part of the Taranis so they’re fair game. First is AI Hax who you’d think would be dead, but was somehow still being kept alive by the Taranis’ core. He’s able to summon a construct of the Taracus and fire a powerful attack that ignores all armor.
Wiz: There’s also Jihl who after his sacrifice, managed to live on in Hanna’s body, and can manifest alongside the Belenos to restore the Taranis’ health and energy.
Boomstick: With all these upgrades and stuff, the kids were able to rescue Malt and even defeat not just the Crimson Knights, but even the damn Bermans for good.
Wiz: This fall was partially self-inflicted and also due to various parties sabotaging Leber Kaiser and his plans. In short the Bermans planned on using the Helheim, one of the most powerful Juno in existence, which tracks since it spawned the Vanargand. This backfired as the Helheim corrupted Leber Kaiser into a massive monster, fusing with his ship, the Gargantua.
Boomstick: Not like that deterred the kids. Here they fought and put down Leber like the bitch he was.
Wiz: But Leber was just the beginning, plotting behind the scenes was none other than Maestro, who not only manipulated the Bermans, but also the children as well. All part of his grand "orchestra” in his melodies of steel.
Boomstick: … Say that again…
Wiz: By giving the Bermans use of the Helheim, it awakened Yurlungur, the Australian Juno, who captured the children to question them.
Boomstick: During that mess, that creep Maestro kidnapped Mei in order to use her for his plans. Where did he take her? The frickin Moon of course. So now, this tank is also gonna go to space too.
Wiz: In hot pursuit of Maestro, the children alongside another masked man named Lunet would arrive on the Moon, where their questions would be answered.
Boomstick: First off, Maestro isn’t just any old creepy masked man, but was actually a scientist, not just that, but actually the head of Crusade, the very organization that made the Taranis and Jihl’s torturers.
Wiz: Not just that, but that he was one of the last humans alive and had been planning all this since the beginning. Essentially, Maestro hated the Juno and wanted to destroy them, but due to the Reset, he was only left with two others Guilluame AKA Lunet and Catherine who was converted into cat A.I Cathie.
Boomstick: That’s because Lunet and Catherine went to explore the new Earth, but got separated and during which, she got sick. Not wanting to die in vain, she found the Taranis and used it to turn herself into an AI. In fact she actually met Mei in the Phantom Village due to time shenanigans. Although that doesn’t explain why she turned into a cat though…
Wiz: …Anyway, Maestro was going to perform a Reset on the current world and kill every Caninu and Felineko on the planet, and the Taranis was instrumental in that. See, the Soul Cannon wasn’t just a powerful beam cannon, it actually was able to convert matter into data, which is why it was so effective against foes as strong as the Titanomachina. For Maestro he needed the Soul Cannon to fire at the Master Seed which monitors and is connected to all information in the world. One shot and boom, a Reset, then Maestro would use the human data he stole from the Juno and revive them.
Boomstick: And if you thought they were going to accept that, just who the hell do you think they are!? After picking up Mei, they came in hot pursuit of Maestro once more as he and his Hecateia blasted towards Earth. But blocking the way were those damn Crimson Knights, ready to test them once more.
Wiz: Here, Malt would find out about the truth about that fateful night. That Ash wasn’t really at fault, and that it was his parents that wanted to kill Malt.
Boomstick: Wait, WHAT!?
Wiz: It turns out that every member of the Marzipans had the ability to look into the future and through this they saw a horrifying future, Malt using the Soul Cannon and Reseting the world. This vision would lead to Wheat and Emma Marzipan to attempt sacrificing Malt and Mei, and despite his best efforts, Ash was unable to prevent his parents burning the home, Emma killing herself and for him to kill Wheat to protect the two. To avoid ostracization for Malt and Mei, he hid the truth about the visions, blamed everything on himself, then was banished.
Boomstick: God damn, this kid can’t catch a break. Like Malt seriously needs therapy for all the bullshit he’s been through.
Wiz: That’ll have to wait as once the Knights were out of the way, it was time to face Maestro. Facing the Hecateia head on, one thing was clear, DO NOT… use the Soul Cannon.
Boomstick: Despite their best efforts, Maestro caught them lacking and shot them with freaking Orbital Lasers, leaving them ready to fall to death.
Wiz: But a familiar voice would come out of the Taranis’ radio, it was Jeanne who awoke from her slumber and encouraged the children to continue fighting. By believing in the Taranis, and by using the stock piled energy from defeated foes, the Taranis further evolved once more into the La Pucelle De Taranis, The Valkyrie of Light.
Boomstick: Turning the 18 meter tank into a several kilometer tall behemoth, the Pucelle Taranis was basically a Titanomachina in and of itself. With its massively upscaled weaponry and the kids’ previous abilities, they used this power to beat Maestro into submission. But Maestro had to be a sore loser and kidnap Mei again to try restarting his plan. But despite hiding away in the Deep Depths, Malt, being the best brother ever, literally smashed through the Deep Depth. Let me remind you, he smashed through the barriers to a place beyond time and space itself. That’s some Asura’s Wrath type shit right there. (Fun Fact: Fuga was made by CC2 who also made Asura’s Wrath).
Wiz: Furthermore, by doing this, Malt was risking his own existence as in, he would be erased from reality for good. But through the bond of his friends and sheer willpower I guess, Malt was able to prevent his own existence from being erased.
Boomstick: And so, the kids charged up and rammed the Taranis into the Hecateia, ending Maestro’s plans.
Wiz: But it seems as though the universe wasn’t done with these children as a once defeated enemy of theirs wasn’t truly gone.
Boomstick: Ok let’s wrap this up Wiz, I just want to see these kids happy now. Basically this racist scientist bastard named Blutwurst survived the Gargantua’s destruction and in his pathetic final moments, wanted to crash the ship into the Gasco capital with a Spell Bomb in the ship.
Wiz: Now tired and low on power, the children were forced to battle Blutwurst and prevent him from bombing the capital. Here, the now defeated Maestro revealed to the Malt and Mei the secrets of the Taranis which can allow the children to stop the bomb. There, Malt and Mei were transported to a space-like realm where apparitions of what seems to be themselves as well as those lost to the Taranis appeared. It seems as though the Soul Cannon’s matter conversion not only destroys, it also preserves, keeping the data of both the sacrificed crew and those killed by the Soul Cannon.
Boomstick: These spirits not only empowered the kids, it also empowered their allies as the energy from those who helped them flowed through the crew. Here they were going to build the future, and they wanted to protect that future from people like Blutwurst. They fired the Soul Cannon, now brilliantly green and obliterated Blutwurst, closing the chapter on the Berman’s facism and conquest.
Wiz: Finally, after so much fighting and pain, the children landed and ran across the green plains of Gasco, now able to live their lives in peace.
Boomstick: But before going back to normalcy, the kids would all gather at the Taranis, now at the mountain it was found in. Here, the now resigned Maestro and Cathie said their farewells as they went to sleep and locked down the Taranis, finally sealing the Steel Fortress once and for all.
Wiz: And so the children went on with their lives, able to achieve their dreams in a world where children like themselves wouldn’t have to be exposed to wars. Their hardships and experiences would be chronicled by their masked friend Lunet, who would be able to share their melodies of steel.
Wiz: Alright the combatants are set, we’ve run the data through all possibilities.
Boomstick: It’s time for a Death Battle!!!
*We find ourselves in a forest and slowly pan down to the floor, only for the foot of the Turn A to step down. The White Doll making its way through the vibrant forest. We then zoom in onto the cockpit of the Turn A, where Loran is getting a message from Mobile Suit mechanic and excavator Sid.
Sid: We’ve been getting reports of a rogue tank, about the size of your White Doll. The militia sent a squad, but…
Loran: I’ll look into it. I just hope Sochie wasn’t hurt.
*Suddenly explosions and gunfire could be heard in the distance, the commotion halting communications with Sid and for Loran to rush towards it.
*We then cut to a massive 18 meter tall tank, engaging with several green mecha, 3 Borjarnons and 2 Kapools with a Borjarnon and Kapool already being destroyed.
*One of the Kapools, piloted by Loran’s friend Sochie, engages with the Taranis, only to end up being shot down by the steel fortress. We then zoom into the Taranis to see the crew of children tense, yet relieved at their predicament.
Hack: Yeah, Yeah! Take that you overgrown crab!
Kyle: (Smugly) These guys are amateurs compared to the Bermans.
Malt: Don’t underestimate them you guys.
Hanna: Even though they attacked us, I hope they didn’t get too hurt.
*We then cut to Sochie climbing out of her destroyed Kapool as the remaining Mobile Suits group together. Suddenly, the Turn A jumps out of the forest and lands between the Taranis and the huddled up Mobile Suits.
Loran: Sochie! Everyone, please take the injured and retreat!
*The green mechs begin to fall back as the Turn A turns towards the Taranis. Loran watches as the defeated Kapool is converted into golden energy, and is transferred to the tank. We then transition from the Turn A to the Taranis’ monitor recording of the Turn A.
Boron: (Softly) Heh… heh.
Kyle: * Puts his hand behind his neck. Does that robot… have a mustache?
Socks: (Excited) It does look more advanced than those models we just fought.
Wappa: Maybe that robot is a papa.
Mei: Eh… really?
Chick: Wappa don’t be silly.
*In the midst of the children’s friendly banter, a being of light appeared. It was their cat-shaped navigator Chathie who came with terrible news.
Cathie: It has come to my attention that the enemy unit we are facing is designated the System-∀99 ∀ Gundam. It is imperative that we destroy it.
*Cathie disappears as flashes of the Dark History plays in front of the now horrified children. Their experiences with ancient destructive superweapons as well as the destruction in front of their eyes gives them the motivation to fight.
Malt: We can’t let something that dangerous go loose. Hax, Cayenne, Leber, Maestro… we won’t allow our world to be destroyed!
*We transition to the Turn A in a combative stance as the Taranis sits idly.
Loran: Maybe it isn’t so rogue after all…
*Suddenly the Taranis aims one of its cannons at the mech and fires a shot. The mech quickly responds and blocks the attack with its shield.
Loran: Why… Why must we fight!?
*A flurry of machine gun rounds blitzes towards the Turn A. With Loran dodging the shots.
Loran: I’m sorry for this…
*We transition from where the Turn A is, to a split screen of it and the Taranis. The tank being oriented on the left like in its games, and the Turn A on the right similar to the SD Generations games or Super Robot Wars. A label begins to flash saying Préparez-Vous Au Combat! Battle Start, but instead of the Berman symbol, it’s the Turn A’s.
*FIGHT!
*The Taranis fires a grenade at the mech, with Loran blocking the shot and flying back. He aims his beam rifle and fires a shot at one of the weapons only for the tank’s barrier to block it.
Socks: Take this!
*The Taranis launches a smoke grenade obstructing Loran’s view. Soon a barrage of grenade and cannon shots comes flying through the smoke with the Turn A now propelling itself into the air.
Kyle: Got you now!
*A precise stream of bullets connects with the Turn A, disorienting the mech.
Kyle: Britz!
Britz: On it!
*Soon a flurry of electric infused bullets are fired at the Turn A, only for the mech to dodge.
Loran: Why do you have to be so foolish!?
*Loran fires several beams at the Taranis, purposely aiming for the treads and weapons. The shots are dissipated by the barrier, but deals slight damage to the sides of the tank.
All Children: AH!
Cathie: Light damage sustained, auto-repair system activated.
Kyle: Damn it, he’s aiming for the treads!
Malt: *Internal (Why is he just trying to immobilize us?)
*Malt suddenly froze, as a vision appeared of the Turn A’s next attack. Just as he was about speak, Mei chimed in.
Mei: Taranis! Move back!
*As the Taranis moved back, the Turn A fired a scattering beam shot from its abdomen. The Taranis just narrowly avoided the attack.
Malt: We need a distraction!
Chick: On it! (Activates Leader Skill)
*Chick shoots darkening smoke at the Turn A. Suddenly Loran’s vision became pitch black as if he was stuck in a closet.
Loran: What is this!?
*As the Turn A is disoriented, the Taranis slips away. We cut to a first-person view of Loran slightly panicking only for the darkness to fade away. He looks around the forest, only to find a metal platform near-by. He then flies towards it. We cut to the interior of the Taranis.
Jin: We need to get those weapons.
Wappa: Yeah! Without them, it’s just a big doll.
*Hack looks at the screen in slight disbelief.
Hack: You mean that? *Pointing at the screen.
*The children all look at the sight of the Turn A with what looks like a flail.
Loran: I can’t have you running around destroying things.
*Loran swings the Gundam Hammer towards the side of the Taranis hitting it. The shaking surprised the children.
Boron: Aw… we just repaired it though.
Socks: How can a primitive weapon be so strong!?
Malt: I guess we can’t underestimate it, huh.
*The Hammer returns to the Turn A, only for Loran to spin it for a direct hit.
Sheena: No you don’t!
*The Hammer is thrown, with it activating its thrusters for a powerful spin. The hammer is intercepted by Sheena, who shoots a spell infused grenade that destroys the end of the hammer in a fiery explosion. Despite this set back, it doesn’t deter Loran.
Loran: I’m not finished!
*He pulls back the chain, only for Loran to spin the hook end and throws it like a bola. The chain wrapped around one of the cannons destroying it.
Hack: Ugh… If that wasn’t against us that would have been cool.
Hanna: I’ll handle it everyone. *Hanna put her hands together and began to hum.
*Suddenly, the damaged cannon began to glow as it became as good as new.
Loran: It can recover like the Turn A? *Internal (This is bad, it seems quicker than the Turn A’s healing).
Sheena: Orly Loosa!
*The ground begins to rumble as cracks form, and fire begins to erupt from the cracks. Loran quickly flies up, with a stream of machine gun and grenade shots narrowly missing.
Kyle: Damn it! We can’t get him like this!
Malt: Then we’ll have to take off!
*The Taranis begins to move forward, with the Turn A trailing them. Loran’s eyes are fully focused on the tank only for his focus to turn into shock. The Taranis is trying to drive off a cliff.
Loran: Wha… What are doing!? STOP!
As the Taranis flings itself off the cliff, Mei shouts.
Mei: Fly Taranis!
*The Taranis then transforms, the back binders folding out to form wings and its treads forming into thrusters. The sight of a flying tank bewildering Loran.
Loran: Why do tanks need to fly!?
*The Taranis flew off into the now sunset colored sky, with the Turn A in hot pursuit. The Turn A pulled out its beam rifle and fired at the Taranis. The Taranis quickly dodged the beams, thanks to its increased dexterity. The children then began a counterattack.
Malt: Fire!
*A cannon round fires at the Turn A, only for the mech to dodge it.
Wappa: That’s not all Mustache!
*Wappa fires a grenade at the Turn A; the mech blocks the attack only for that shot to slightly dent the shield as if it was a lucky shot.
Loran: There!
*The Turn A opens its upper chest cavity to reveal missile launchers, which then fire in a wonderful barrage.
Kyle: Oh no you don’t! Malt!
Malt: On it!
*The two boys begin glowing and unleash a powerful stream of bullets.
Kyle and Malt: Brave Storm!
*The bullets make short work of the missiles and make their mark on the Turn A’s shoulder.
Loran: Don’t think that’s all!
*The Turn A then shoots both its scattering beam cannon and beam rifle at the Taranis, barely hitting the tank. The Taranis then fires several cannon shots; all of them missing as Loran masterfully dodges each shot. Then a grenade launches at the Turn A’s shield, which explodes into a smokescreen. Following that is a volley of bullets that chips at the shield, followed by an incendiary grenade, then a 4-piece cannon volley.
Loran: That won’t stop me!
Socks: I don’t think so!
*Socks fires a weak grenade at the Turn A’s rifle as it was aiming at them, the grenade lands, not even enough damage to destroy the rifle. However, left on the rifle is a small bomb, set to explode in a short time. The bomb was not immediately noticed by Loran, who was mildly stunned by the attack.
Hack: Let’s go, he’s wide open!
*Soon the tank unleashes a big attack on the Turn A, now relentlessly being hit by the various rounds. In which, the Turn A pulls its shield in defense. Boron looks on, not at all deterred by this sight.
Boron: I can do this!
*The big boy begins glowing a brilliant golden light as his emotions have empowered him.
Boron: Giga Bazooka!
*The shot rams through the air into the shield, which is utterly destroyed. Boron is not finished as he unleashes his Shell Festival, a four shot attack, at his enemy. Loran, now frustrated, dodges the attack as he pulls a beam saber from his now empty left hand.
Loran: I’ll just have to teach you the hard way!
*The Turn A then zips towards the Taranis and slashes at its left thruster. As the children are now in distress.
Kyle: Shit, how many toys does this thing have!?
Britz: This is bad, melee isn’t the Taranis’ strong suit.
Chick: Behind us!
*The Turn A turns to the back of the Taranis, ready to plunge its saber into the engine room. However, this is a vision Mei is having and she then responds.
Mei: Chathie, shield!
*As the Turn A stabs the Taranis’ back, the beam is blocked by an energy shield.
Loran: I’m not done yet!
*He then aims the beam rifle at the Taranis. Suddenly, a beeping can be heard. The bomb has activated, with it now blowing up the rifle.
Sock: Knew it would work its magic.
Hack: Get off our back!
*The Taranis turns its guns towards the Turn A and fires, knocking back the mech. The Taranis turns to the Turn A and begins to repair the damage it took. The Turn A then flies towards the Taranis and steps on it. It pulls out the other beam saber, then fires another scattering shot. As the Turn A flips through the air, it begins to spin around the beam sabers as if it were drawing a circle. The Taranis turns around only to find that the Turn A has vanished.
Socks: Teleportation!?
Jin: Damn it! Where did it go!?
*The children all look around intensely as they figure out their opponent. Malt focuses as his eyes glow.
Malt: Besid…
*He was cut off by rumbling as the Turn A had already slashed the side of the Taranis. As Loran was about to land another blow, the Taranis put up a shield to block the attack. In the midst of this, Sheena began to attempt a Syphon Beam to drain some of the Turn A’s energy. However, Loran was hit with a strange feeling as a ringing noise, in conjunction with a sharp flash hit his mind. He intercepted the attack with a strong kick, flinging the Taranis back a few meters. The attack knocked Sheena around, who was now bleeding from her head.
Blitz: Sheena!
*The boy quickly came to the aid of his dearest friend. The thought of losing her horrified him.
Sheena: (Weakly) I’m fine…
*She held her hand on the wound, the area glowing as she used her Nono to slightly heal herself. Seeing the whole thing was Malt, who became livid.
Malt: How dare you hurt my friends…
*A golden aura formed around Malt as his face contorts into a more feral state.
Malt: RRRRRAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!
*A series of cannon shots were sent flying at the Turn A, the attacks flinging it several meters.
Loran: UGH… these attacks, they’re more powerful?
*Soon the Taranis begins firing.
Blitz: This is for hurting Sheena!
Hack: I won’t ever forgive you for that!
Wappa: Take this fool!
*As the attacks come closer to Loran, he yells out a loud scream in desperation.
Loran: AAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!
*He begins to spin the beam sabers like a rotating fan, and creates a makeshift beam shield blocking the attacks as he zips all over the place to throw off the crew.
Malt: You’re not getting away!
*A powerful shot is fired, only for Loran to react as he shoots a missile at it, intercepting the shot. Loran looks around the smoke only to find the Taranis ready to ram the Turn A at full speed.
Loran: Are you insane!?
*The Turn A then catches the Taranis, trying to hold it in place.
Loran: Full thrust!
*The Turn A then begins to fire its “thrusters” at max output as the Turn A pushes the Taranis with all its might.
Loran: I’m sorry for this!
*The Turn A digs its foot underneath the Taranis, then flips back, performing a judo throw causing the tank to spin around. Thinking quickly, Britz shoots a shocking Gewitter attack on the Turn A, slightly stunning the mech. The Taranis reorients itself and fires a powerful blast. The Turn A breaks free and tries to intercept it, only for the slash to never register. As it turns out, Malt had activated the Leader Skill “Careful!”, causing Loran’s attack to fail. The blast knocked the Turn A leaving it wide open.
Malt: Now!
*A green light forms next to the Taranis as a construct of the once destroyed Tarascus appears. It unloads its cannon, the Managarm, and fires a giant beam at the Turn A, enveloping it. For the children, it seemed as though it was over as Malt turned back to normal and the Tarascus dissipated. However, once the smoke cleared, it seemed as though the Turn A was still intact, now slumped over in the air slowly falling.
*Inside the cockpit of the Turn A lies Loran now unconscious from the attack. Inside his mind, we get flashes of his life, from his nearly drowning in that lake and being saved, his digging days with his father, him helping that Moonrace family find food, and his time with Sochie, Kihel and Diana. The memories raise him back to consciousness.
Loran: (Weakly) That’s right… I have to protect them…
*He adjusts himself.
Loran: (Determined) I can’t fall, not here… can you hear me? TURN A!!!
*We cut back to the slouched Turn A as red glowing ∀ symbols begin swarming the Turn A. Its blank eyes now glowing a sinister red, illuminating the now night sky. It soon teleports high into the air, gaining the attention of the Taranis crew. The Turn A standing straight begins to shake as if its body is ready to unleash something fierce. Soon, the ports on its back open as tons of nanomachines are unleashed creating large, glowing butterfly wings.
*The Moonlight Butterfly… has been released.
*We cut back to the children, now filled with dread as some of them fall on the floor in utter terror. The sight of this super weapon leaving the room silent. Malt clenches his hand.
Malt: We can’t stop now. We have to protect our world.
*The determined look in Malt’s eyes begins to embolden the kids. Mei then comes up to her brother.
Mei: Malt… I want to protect our family. I want to be with you.
*As she stood beside Malt, the others followed suit.
Hanna: I want to be able to come home and have a future.
Kyle: I want to live in a world with Hanna… and you guys as well.
Socks: I want to invent and study new technology, and a world without that just seems meaningless.
Jin: Same here buddy. I won’t let my factory be destroyed by this bastard!
Boron: I just hope to come home for a nice meal.
Wappa: Ha ha ha! You’re so simple Boron! As leader, I want… world peace! (And a meal as well…).
Chick: Well a destroyed world means no one can appreciate me as a lady.
Hack: Yeah! And there’s still so much adventuring to do in this one!
Sheena: I want to keep my family safe!
Blitz: Our family…
*Sheena blushed, realizing what Blitz just said.
*Malt, now smiling at his dearest friends, turned towards the screen.
Malt: Now… let’s go everyone!
*The Taranis readies its guns and fires at the Turn A, only for it to teleport to the side and kick it. The force wasn’t enough to deter the kids.
Malt: You think that’ll be enough!?
*The Taranis then puts up a shield, now hardened by Jin’s Super Armor, then fires several grenades at the Turn A. The Turn A dodges each one, then teleports in front of the Taranis, slashing it. The mech soon teleports again as the children try to pinpoint it. It reappears, in which the Taranis fires only for the shots to do nothing as the Turn A uses its Moonlight Butterfly to block the attack. It teleports one more time as it prepares one last attack.
Loran: I’ll have to use this then!
*The Turn A then launches the Moonlight Butterfly towards the sides of the Taranis, slicing the thrusters and wings off the tank. The now flightless tank soon drops from the sky, ready to fall to the Cloud Sea below.
Sheena: No… this can’t be the end.
Wappa: Well if this is it… then I want to say I love all you guys!
Mei: This isn’t the end! I believe in the Taranis!
Malt: She’s right, we won’t fall here!
Everyone: Taranis, Taranis, TARANIS!
*Loran looks down, the clouds obscuring his view. In the clouds glows a powerful golden light, bleeding through the sheets of grey. Suddenly, it began to take shape as the light began to grow. In front of Loran was a massive golden head that was several kilometers in height; it resembled the shape of a knight's helmet crossed with a woman with cat ears. The rest of the massive body soon followed as the La Pucelle De Taranis towered over the now tiny Turn A, a tiny fairy in comparison.
*The golden light of the Taranis clashing with the blue light of the Moonlight Butterfly.
*Loran looks towards his adversary.
Loran: Golden Doll… why do you intend to take this fight so far? This world doesn’t need weapons like you.
*The Pucelle Taranis summons six floating guns and fires at the Turn A. The stream of bullets turned the sky into a storm of hot metal and decimating some islands in the background. The Turn A quickly responds, skillfully teleporting and blocking the shots using its sabers and Moonlight Butterfly. It teleports towards the Taranis and tries stabbing the Taranis in its chest, with the attack being ineffective. The Taranis tries grabbing the Turn A, with it teleporting in response.
*Soon the Turn A appears on the Taranis’ right arm and rams both beam sabers through it. It then begins running towards the head, dragging the sabers along. Before the Turn A could be intercepted, it teleports towards the head and performs a double slash. Soon, several guns emerge and shoot at the Turn A, only to teleport out of the way.
*Malt looks around, his eyes glowing green as he looks into the future.
Malt: Over there!
*The moment the Turn A reappears, the Taranis’ guns fire at it. But before the guns can fire, Loran gets another flash in his head, and then throws his two sabers in two of the gun’s barrels causing the weapons to explode. However, this obviously didn’t stop the other weapons as the shots connected and the Turn A was forced to tank the barrage.
*As it endured the attack, the Moonlight Butterfly began wrapping around the Turn A, the light blanketed the White Doll turning the attacks into harmless dust. Loran looks on in bated breath; he quickly spreads out the wings, decimating the rest of the guns. Just as quickly as the guns disintegrate, the long, lumbering arms of the Taranis close in on the Turn A, seemingly crushing the robot like a bug.
*Just as it seemed over, light began rupturing from the golden hands, bursting through the golden cage. The Turn A stares at the handless Taranis, its wings massive as it is magnificent. It then redirects the Moonlight Butterfly at the Taranis, the curtains of nanomachines slicing through the arms of the Valkyrie of Light. The massive knight falling apart into dull pieces, now rubble to be consumed by the cloud sea below.
*Loran sighed, it seemed as though the battle was won. Immediately however, a green light glimmered in the sky as it took the shape of the Taranis. Before it could be enveloped by the Moonlight Butterfly, it used its remaining energy to teleport right above the destroyed Pucelle Taranis.
Hack: We… we’re alive…
Hanna: But the Taranis…
*The children watch dejectedly, now powerless to stop their foe. In the midst of this gloom, Malt and Mei are suddenly frozen, their minds being thrusted into an area similar to that of space.
Malt: This place…
*Glowing apparitions appear in front of the duo, taking the form of Malt and several other people the duo recognize.
Memory Malt: I see you’re still fighting… even after all this time.
Memory Mei: Not to worry you two! We’re all in this together!
*Soon all of the illusions begin to dissipate as Malt and Mei return to the real world. Malt and Mei stand firm looking at the Gundam in front of them.
Malt: We have gone through so much to protect these lands of ours… White Devil… we will not let you destroy OUR WORLD!
*The Taranis emitted that green light, the glow coming from panels within the Taranis’ front section. It opened up, revealing a massive cannon stored inside of it, now overflowing with energy.
*Sensing the anger from the tank, Loran retorts.
Loran: You’re wrong… the White Doll isn’t just a weapon for destruction. It’s a tool to help people.
*He stands up and begins pleading.
Loran: Everyone! Please lend me your strength!
*The Turn A begins to glow a green light, similar to the Taranis, and folds its arms to its chest. We then cut to various locations, with plants, animals, and people. With each scene, energy from all walks of life flows towards the Turn A, the Turn A charging up the energy gathered from all things on and from the Earth. We transition from the two machines charging their attacks to scenes of the various characters from each series looking at the battle at hand. The Gasco military, The Militia, Vanilla, Sochie, Flam, Kihel, Baum, Keith, Stollen, Jeanne, Diana, and many more.
*Now flowing with the memories of the Taranis, the children all yell with all their might.
All Children: GO!!!
*With that, the Taranis fires the Soul Cannon, its green light ripping across the sky like a shooting star. The Turn A in contrast spreads its arms out and unleashes the full might of its Moonlight Butterfly, this time to create a massive I-Field barrier several kilometers wide.
*The two attacks connect, the I-Field just barely holding up against the might of the Soul Cannon. The Turn A begins to break apart, several panels flying out of it and pushing it back a few kilometers. Loran attempts to escape with the Core Fighter, only for it to not launch. At first, the fear of dying overwhelms Loran, as he desperately tries activating the escape function. However, he calms down and slowly accepts the predicament he’s in. He looks at the green light in front of him; it isn’t that of hatred, it is a color of warmth and hope. It almost felt as though the light was calling to him.
*Loran stood up.
Loran: Queen Diana, Lady Kihel, Sochie, everyone… I’m sorry I won’t be able to come home…
*He spreads out his arms as wide as the Turn A’s, tears running from his eyes.
Loran: UNIVERSE!!!!!
*The Turn A begins to be engulfed by a green light, not that of the Soul Cannon, but that of the Turn A’s own Psycommu system as a green light bursts from the Moonlight Butterfly’s ports and begins filling the air around it. Soon, millions of green particles flow through the sky for kilometers on end. The remaining Moonlight Butterfly cuts open the Taranis, exposing the children to the open air. Most of the children begin panicking, blindsided by an attack like this. The only ones not panicking are Malt and Mei, still determined.
*Slowly, the room began to quiet down, as the Turn A’s light entered the Command Room. The tense and scared children became comforted by this light. Like Loran to the Soul Cannon’s light, they felt no hatred, but rather something warm and peaceful. The determined Malt now loosening up, with the light reaching out to him. He felt a message, that of someone reaching out to their friends. Malt looks up at the two sources of light and desperately yells out.
Malt: No… STOP!!!
*We then fade to Loran, still holding out his arms. The cockpit of the Turn A shatters as Loran and the Turn A takes the full blast of the Soul Cannon; Loran’s body enveloped by light and his body slowly turning into data, the screen fading to white.
*Loran opens his eyes in a dark void of sorts, surrounded by strange symbols. He looked around only to find nothing, he stood there alone in his thoughts, then fell to his knees crying.
Loran: Diana… everyone…
*As Loran wept, Malt found himself standing in another area of the Deep Depths, tearing up at the sight of Loran’s lamentation. Guilt swept over Malt as he just took the life of someone. Someone that seemed dear to many, people that will no longer be able to see him. That guilt then turned into grit as Malt braces himself and begins punching that barrier between him and Loran. His hands were bleeding from each punch he delivered, but it didn’t matter to him. He was going to save this man, even if it killed him. When his hands gave out, he began smashing his body against it. Eventually, he walked back and ran full force at the now cracked barrier, shattering it like when he saved Mei.
*Loran looked up at the boy now in front of him, surrounded by shattered glass and bracing himself. The yellow eye peeking out of his right arm shining with golden willpower. The dog child lands on the floor, reeling from the pain. Loran walked towards Malt, and let out his hand.
Loran: Are you okay?
*Malt proceeded to grab his hand, the feeling of blood concerning Loran.
Loran: You’re hurt… we… we got to patch it up…
*Interrupting Loran’s concern was Malt’s sad expression, and how it set in that this was a young kid.
Loran: So… what’s your name?
Malt: Malt… Malt Marzipan…
Loran: Loran, Loran Cehack.
Malt: I’m here to save you.
*Loran looks at Malt simultaneously glad but confused.
Loran: I’m glad there’s someone to help me but… why you? You’re just a child.
Malt: Because I killed you!
*Loran was stunned, but composed himself.
Loran: I see… so that tank, it was you?
Malt: And… and my friends…
Loran: So that light I felt, it did come from a place of good.
Malt: No!... I killed you, I took you away from your loved ones.
*Loran grabbed Malt’s hand and tried to calm him.
Loran: You were protecting your friends Malt, if I would have won, they could have died. You protected them, and that is the only thing that should matter to you. Children like you shouldn’t be burdened with the guilt of murder!
*Loran looked around at the large cracks forming around the void.
Loran: I can’t believe children like you have to fight with a weapon like that.
Malt: There was no choice, we didn’t want to fight, but our families and world was at stake!
*Loran began to tear up.
Loran: What has the world gone to? Why does it hurt so much!?
Malt: It really does…
Loran stares at Malt.
Malt: But in spite of that, we always manage to build up.
*Loran smiled, knowing well that this boy will help to make the future bright. The cracks around the void begin to break, the whole area breaking into… space?
Malt: What’s going on?
Loran: I don’t know…
*Loran looked around, the stars shimmering, making the emptiness of space a beautiful tapestry of light. Staring right at the two is a view of the Earth, its vast blueness filling the two boys with emotion. Loran reached out his right hand toward the planet.
Loran: I love you…
Malt: It’s so beautiful. Look there’s the Moon.
*Loran glances at the silver moon, its craters giving Loran some nostalgia.
Loran: My old home…
*Malt looked surprised. Another Moon human like Maestro? Well, this one isn’t like him, he has a kindness similar to that of Lunet or Catherine. Maybe humans did deserve a second chance. Suddenly, Malt fell over in pain, his body glitching.
Loran: Malt!?
Malt: My form… it can’t sustain itself. I… wish we could’ve talked some more.
*Loran's face becomes grim watching this child kill himself. Malt, with no hesitation, grabs Loran’s hand and starts running. He runs as fast as he can, Loran right behind him, he dashes as much as he can until… Loran stands still, halting the strides Malt had made.
Malt: What are you doing!? We have to go!
Loran: Malt… I am dead, I don’t have a body to return to. And you… you need to return to your friends…
*As Malt was about to respond, another crack forms in space and begins to pull Malt away. Malt continues to hold on to Loran’s arm.
Malt: No… NO! I can’t leave you here!
*Loran looks at the boy and gives a warm but conflicted smile.
Malt: I’ll bring you back! As the oldest… I PROMISE IT!
Loran: Thank you… And please, tell everyone about me.
Malt: I will.
*The force of the crack ripped the two boys apart as tears flowed from their eyes. Malt is sent back to the white void whence he came, and Loran is left all alone in the void of space. As Loran stood there, a voice spoke from behind.
Mysterious Lady: It’s okay Loran… you won’t be alone.
*Loran looked to find his left hand grabbed by that of a woman, whose voice was soft and motherly. She was dressed in a yellow dress and looked of Indian descent, and led him towards a group of unfamiliar people, in front being a brown haired man in a blue shirt.
*We fade back to Malt falling through the white void, voices calling to him as slowly, his eyes opening. Surrounding him were his dear friends all in tears as he finally awoke.
Mei: Malt!
*His sister gave him a warm hug, with everyone soon joining in.
Malt smiled believing that the fighting was finally over. However, Cathie chimed in.
Cathie: Warning! Taranis’ Wings are severely damaged, we will fall in 5 seconds!
*As it turned out, the Moonlight Butterfly didn’t just damage the Taranis’ front, it also damaged the Taranis’ wings as well. The Taranis then shakes as the still sky lowers. The children were falling. The Steel Fortress that protected them, about to become a metal coffin.
All Children: AAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!
*Just as all hope seemed lost, the Taranis’ fall was halted. Staring at them as the Turn A, heavily damaged, but still engulfed in its green aura. It grabbed the Taranis and lowered it to safety onto a nearby island. Malt, astonished by the Turn A’s survival, rushed from the Command Room to the roof, with the other children soon following him. After the Turn A placed the Taranis down, it raised into the sky. Speechless, Malt reached his hand towards the Turn A. The Turn A tried to reach back only for its hand to disintegrate, with the rest of it soon to follow.
*It appeared that a bit of Loran lived on through the Turn A, and rather than allowing the children to die, he would save them even in his final moments. With the Turn A gone for good, left in its spot was a beautiful luminescence of green particles, forming an aurora. Finally free of the fighting, the children look to the sky as they enjoy the warm light. Mei looks at her brother as Malt looks on, with a tear running down his eye smiling.
Malt: Goodbye… Loran…
*K.O!
*In the K.O split screen we see the children continue to look at the sky, now sitting down relaxed. On Loran’s side, we see him looking down from space as he admires the beauty of the Earth.
Boomstick: *Sniffs God damn it, they’re only kids man.
Wiz: While the Turn A did have the means to fend off the Taranis, it was only a matter of time until the Taranis overwhelmed it.
Boomstick: Yeah… so let’s go over their power. The Turn A was able to destroy battleships with its Beam Rifle, and could potentially scale to the Colony busting power of Gundams like the Wing and X. But that’s sort of small potatoes compared to the Taranis.
Wiz: The Taranis’ Soul Cannon was able to harm the Vanargand which as stated previously can rip apart whole countries in a weakened state. The Taranis was able to defeat the Vanargand at its prime, which is doubly impressive due to the Vanargand being touted as one of the strongest Titanomachina in the lore. Stronger than the Hecatia, Lares, and Lemures, the latter two being able to survive country destroying orbital lasers, and a massive explosion from the Tartaros which is even more powerful than Titanomachina.
Boomstick: As for speed, this is where the Turn A should be superior. While the two’s reaction speed should both be around sub-relativistic, the Turn A’s scaling to extremely fast Mobile Suits like the Victory as well as its great agility should grant it the advantage in speed and maneuverability.
Wiz: Discussing weapons is funny as the only two that really matter are the Moonlight Butterfly and the Soul Cannon. Both of which are instant kills if either party lands a hit on them.
Boomstick: Yeah, with the Soul Cannon’s matter conversion it basically no sells any defense the Turn A could potentially put up, and with its lower durability it would be vaporized.
Wiz: Likewise, the Moonlight Butterfly by-passes durability due to its ability to destroy matter, and we know the MB could affect the Taranis due to the existence of the Cloud-Sea which shares similar properties like plasma storms and matter destruction. We have seen machines weaker than Titanomachina be destroyed by the Sea and things like the Vanargand’s massive corpse was destroyed. The Taranis is way less durable than Titanomachina so it's reasonable to assume it would be destroyed even in its Omega configuration.
Boomstick: Finally we get to hax which is where things get interesting.
Wiz: Both combatants do have counters to each other's abilities such as Loran’s Newtype senses for Malt’s future vision, or both having access to teleportation. However, the sheer amount of abilities of the Taranis would overwhelm the Turn A.
Boomstick: With two future vision users Loran’s Newtype sense would be countered since Mei’s future vision has been shown to intercept other future vision, even those of more experienced users like Ash. Plus Loran in the novel really hasn’t been using these powers for that long so that’s an issue.
Wiz: The Taranis also has summons which aid the Taranis, and it so happens the only usable ones are the most powerful. Like Jihl’s ability to heal and restore energy, or Hax’s ability to ignore damage. On top of that are the Hero Modes and Leader Skills which grant each child powerful abilities like destroying all armor, blinding enemies, and even causing attacks to fail.
That last one is important as Loran has no real counters to basically having his weapons fail on him.
Boomstick: Plus the Soul Cannon cannot miss so that, plus the abilities granted by those skills just sorta puts Loran in a bad spot.
Wiz: There’s also the matter of their fighting style as Loran tends to rarely go for kills, instead trying to disable the enemy so the fighting can end with as little casualties as possible. This hesitation is not something the Taranis kids share as they are more willing to go for the kill due to them being put in more perilous situations that can’t be solved by talking or disabling. While not every foe they fought was killed, many of them seemed to have survived out of their own skill or survivability rather than a conscious choice for the kids to spare their enemies. This even extends to their ace in the holes as Loran usually hesitates to use the Moonlight Butterfly and has never used it in canon to actively harm his opponent, while the kids on average are willing to sacrifice their lives for the Soul Cannon on many occasions.
Boomstick: Looks like the Turn A couldn’t turn this fight around.
Wiz: The winner is The Taranis.
