Purpose of this Worksheet

Worksheet Instructions

Use the table below to answer the following questions and reflect on the reality of your ERG’s participants and their level of engagement in your group over the past year.

Engagement Worksheet Exercise

Question

Answer

Metrics

How many programs have you hosted? When did you host them? What were the topics?

  • E.g., Post-Roe Discussion, June 25
  • e.g. # of participants
  • # of discussions
  • # of slack follows

Who are your core participants (i.e., the people who show up meeting after meeting, program after program)? Write down their names. Indicate whether they are leaders and members.

How often do your core participants show up? Why do they show up? What are their interests? Why did they join your group?

How are you communicating with your participants? Via email? Via Slack or Teams? Other methods or channels?

What’s working when it comes to your communication? Do you have any metrics or analytics that suggest which messages and/or which channels are receiving the most return?

Reflection Exercise

Question

Reflection

Changes

Respond to each question

Write down your thoughts (and if you’re in a group, the thoughts of your peers)

What might you change next time?

What do you believe are the drivers of your participants' engagement in your group?

How might you increase engagement in your group over the next six months?

What resources or support, if any, might you need to help increase engagement in your group over the next six months?

Results

Combine the engagement results and the reflections to determine how your ERG will adjust engagement strategy in the following six months or year.
