Library Report

Preston Hot Springs Town-County Library

 

1. Services to the Public: Knit Wit will continue throughout the summer without designated knitting projects. Knit Wit starts at 1pm on Fridays and will continue to do timed writing and readings. Book discussion group will discuss The Heat Will Kill You First by Jeff Goodell June 20, 2024 3pm at the library. Paper crafts will continue through the summer without designated projects on Saturdays from 1pm to 4pm. Books in Search of Kids will be at the Farmers Market June 22 and 29 depending on weather. WIC meets clients by appointment, in the back office at the library, the first Wednesday of the month, June 5, 2024. The Job Service meets people by appointment, in the back office at the library, the first Thursday of the month June 6, 2024.

3.  Technology: Nothing new to report!

  1. General Administrative Business:  

The library board has finished and approved the library budget for FY 2024/2025 and has turned it in to the town clerk.  Thank you to Town Clerk Amy Gray for taking the time to answer library board questions.  The library board voted in a new library trustee from the county. Mary Finlay will replace outgoing trustee Nisca Warthen. Thank you Nisca for your service!  The Sanders County Board of Commissioners has approved Mary Finlay to her 1st term, starting July 1, 2024, as a library trustee for The Preston Hot Springs Town/County library. The Friends of the Library will have their annual summer yard sale June 15, 2024.  The library will be closed June 8, 2024 to celebrate Homesteader Days.  The library board will meet June 19, 2024 for their monthly meeting.
