Welcome to another year of hockey coverage at The Fantasy Fix. Below is a small cheat sheet to help you build your winning lineup! Couple of things you should know:

A-- Research for the first two months of the season is going to be based on (mostly) numbers from last season, so there will be growing pains

B-- Make sure to always check out dailyfaceoff.com for line combinations and starting goalies. I’ll do my best to update this post during the day.

C--Players will be listed in order of production per salary (pp$), a fancy stat I wish I could take credit for.

D-- Please feel free to give me your opinion on the cheat sheet and what you think I should add/remove. Be as nice/mean as you wish.

Let’s have another amazing NHL season!

John Gibson

Vs.MTL

Habs can’t score, period. They won’t win this game either. Play Gibson and move on to something else.

Chad Johnson

Vs.VAN

B2B games for VAN. Not a fan of Chad Johnson in cash games, but he’s a solid GPP option

Braden Holtby

@DET

Elite goalie of the night. Wings have been decent to start the season, but their team total currently sits at 2.6, which is low

DK

Connor Hellebuyck

Vs.MIN

Steve Mason is really not good, so Hellebuyck will try to show management he’s the guy moving forward. Love the GPP upside here.

Jason Pominville

Vs.VAN

The Canucks looked awful against BOS last night. They will look awful tonight. Pominville is still under priced. He’s a go-to option in cash games

Alex Ovechkin

@.DET

Ovi did not have a strong game on Tuesday, but he will look to bounce back tonight against the Wings. Expect some vintage Ovechkin in this one

FD

Kyle Connor

Vs.MIN

Connor has found a way to be promoted to the top line.He isn’t seeing top PP minutes, but at his price tag, that’s not a problem. Nice salary relief option w/ ton of upside

Both

Both

Jonathan Huberdeau

Vs.PIT

Everyone will be focused on PIT tonight, but the Penguins are giving up a ton of goals per game. FLA is a nice GPP option, and Huberdeau is a solid cash game play

Joe Pavelski

@NJD

If you wanted to be disappointed by SJ1 again, Joe Pavelski is your guy. Had a huge game last night out, but that was against MTL, so it doesn’t count because the Habs are barely a hockey team right now

DK

Note: Evgeny Dadonov is a nice option too if you want to go with a double winger stack.

Jack Eichel

Vs.VAN

His ownership is going to be high, but that shouldn’t be a reason not to play him. Lock him into your lineup and move on to something else

Mark Scheifele

Vs.MIN

Scheifele has been good this season. He’s still a top C option for tonight, but don’t feel the need to build your team around him

Sidney Crosby

@FLA

Crosby is always an option when the Penguins are in action. Nice GPP option too.

Both

Both

Aleksander Barkov

Vs.PIT

If you’re playing Huberdeau, might as well pair him with Barkov. Makes for a nice, low ownership mini-stack that could help you take down a GPP

DK

Note: Evgeni Malkin is a nice plan B if you can’t fit Crosby into your lineup.

Defenceman

Keith Yandle

Vs.PIT

Easy play tonight. Yandle is seeing top PP minutes, which is what you want from you defenceman. His floor is a little low, but he’s $300 cheaper than Ekblad who isn’t on the top PP unit.

FD

Will Butcher

Vs.SJ

Even if people are tired of hearing me recommend Will Butcher almost every night, the facts are that he is still an option to consider.

DK

Kris Letang

@.FLA

Chalk defenceman of the night. He’s an expensive option, but he’s obviously got the potential to pick up multiple points by the end of the game

FD

Rasmus Ristolainen

Vs.VAN

Ristolainen has played 26+ minutes in six of the first seven games. He’s also playing on the top PP. Love every part of him tonight.
