We are so excited to welcome volunteers to partner with us to support the needs of our students as they learn and grow, so THANK YOU! Here are the steps to joining our team of volunteers:

  1. Sign up on the DPS volunteer site for a background check, which is good for 1 year. Volunteers who were cleared prior to Jan. 1, 2023 will need to complete this process again.
  2. Once you receive your approval email, please forward your approval email to our admin team (jennifer_aguilar@dpsnc.net, christine_bertson@dpsnc.net).
  3. Complete this form to be added to the 2023-24 George Watts volunteer database.
  4. Teachers and staff will reach out to you as opportunities match your areas of interest and availability.
  5. When you come to the school to volunteer, you will need to present the following:
  1. Your photo identification (every time you come in to volunteer)
  2. Your volunteer approval email (the first time you volunteer, unless uploaded in the form)

In addition to teachers or staff reaching out, we also have the following needs that arise on a regular or one-time basis for which you can reach out to the contact listed:
