Frequently Asked Questions:

2024 Adult Summer Reading Program

Q: How do I pick up my prizes?

A: You can pick up your prizes at the Reference desk during the library’s open hours. See the library’s website for the current hours. You can also pick up your raffle tickets during that time, and use them to enter the drawing of your choice.

Q: I don’t remember how many pages were in my book.  -OR-

Can I listen to Audiobooks for the Summer Reading Program?

A: Head over to the Kirkwood Public Library Catalog to find the number of pages in your book or audiobook!  Or, check out a website like Storygraph, GoodReads or Amazon to find the page count of the title of your book. Need help? Give us a call at (314) 821-5770 Option 3.

Q: Can I only log books that I finish?

A: You can log any pages read, whether or not you finish the book! Choose whichever style works best for you, either logging pages as you go, or waiting to finish your material and then entering the total number of pages.

Q: What do I do if I’ve signed up in the past, but I can’t remember my password?

A: Easy!  Just click the link and enter your email address to receive a reset link.

Q: Why do I have to put in my birthdate when I register for the Summer Reading Program?

A: Our online program fully complies with the federal Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).  This means that all ages must input their date of birth to sign up for the Summer Reading Program.  The good news: you only need to sign up once!  The username and password that you create can be used for our future Winter AND Summer Reading Programs!

Q: Why did we switch from recording books to recording pages?

A: Recording pages allows you to record pages from a wider variety of materials!  You can count your books, eBooks, Audiobooks, and now magazines that you read to reach your goals for the program!  Or do you find yourself reading things like all 1,296 pages of War and Peace?  Now you have the same progress as a person who has read a little over 4 books (average length of a book is about 300 pages)! Log your books when you have finished, or stop by multiple times to update your progress!
