GU ENERGY LABS: FIRST RESPONDER DONATION PROGRAM

As this donation program is part of GU Gives, we want it to celebrate all of the amazing things the #GUmmunity is doing on the frontline and for our donated products to support First Responders as best as possible.

Donations have been delivered to all types of medical branches and emergency staff including: Trauma & COVID Teams, Respiratory Therapists, ER, ICU & ObGyn Departments, Surgeons, RNs, MDs, Pediatricians, Paramedics & EMTs and Cleaning & Kitchen Crews.

Below are a few of the responses from our #GUmmunity that we’ve found inspiring:

“Thank you!  As an avid cyclist and the chair of OB at our hospital, I am touched that you are thinking of us.  I can distribute to our ER, ICU, OB departments.  OB cannot cut back operations and must care for moms/babies who are exposed.  It's hard to believe but we have some of the highest risk of exposure due to the prolonged face to face contact inherent in our line of work. Our nurses ROCK.”

“This donation is for my awesome neighbor across the street working the front lines at Kaiser as an OBGYN while pregnant. Her due date is late May. She is awesome and works out daily in her garage across from me on her Peloton bike. You guys are AWESOME!”

“You guys are amazing.  I work at a level one trauma hospital as an ICU RN and we are currently preparing for the surge.  Currently we have around 30 vented patients, but we’re expecting more.”

”Thanks for supporting the respiratory therapists at Northside hospital Atlanta! :))”

“I just want to say how absolutely amazing this is- as a healthcare worker I can't thank you enough for making me smile- this is such a wonderful gesture!”

“So awesome of GU! I love your company even more now. Thank you for supporting my unit. Our nurses, docs, respiratory therapists, and cleaning crew are all working their tails off now taking care of the sickest kids and babies, and their parents too.”

“Thank you for the support, I really love your products, and will distribute all that you decide to donate to my brothers and sisters working the front lines against this virus.”

“I just want to thank you.  These are strange times but we are trying our best to cope.”

“I can put the GU product in the ED break room and we also have an employee snack station available for all staff during this time that I can put stuff in. We are approaching this as a hospital system knowing this impacts all employees in one way or another, from housekeeping to food services, to the RNs and MDs who are directly working with infected patients”

“Thank you from the bottom of my heart! It’s going to be a tough next few weeks! I’m a nurse practitioner at Jefferson and we are working around the clock to help tackle this crisis and keep our spirits up!”

“How many facilities are you distributing to? Thank you for your support! My hospital is working hard to fight this pandemic.”

“Thank you. We are starting to surge our capacity and are silently scared.”

“Thank you so much for this generous offer - we truly appreciate it! I'm a pediatrician working in the hospital and clinics at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland, as well as a new mom of a 3 month old baby girl, and a competitive sub-elite distance runner on the Impala Racing Team. No questions, but only thanks for your generosity!”

“These kinds of things just make us so grateful and in awe at the service and care in the world. We aren't overrun yet, but in the next week or two we are expecting craziness at our facility.”

“I use GU products all of the time while training and racing, thank you for thinking of applying this to our field.  As a surgeon, I often view long cases like a long race or training session, maybe we will do better if we fuel similarly.”

“Thank you for thinking of those on the frontline”

“Thank you for supporting us all on the frontline.  We appreciate a simple act of kindness.  Please let me know if we can reach out to you.  As caregivers, we serve and care for all.”

“The donations have shipped to the Nurse Practitioner. She will distribute it at her facility. It's too chaotic for it to be delivered to the area where she works.”

“Don’t work for a medical facility. My husband is cook making food for our first responders”

“Thank you so much! To clarify there are more than 200 healthcare professionals at the hospital, but ~150 on my unit, ~40 on any given shift. Thank you so much!”

“This is for the Emergency Physicians, Nurses, and tech staff at Sacred Heart Emergency Dept and St. Joseph Emergency Dept in Chippewa Falls, WI. I am the Medical Director at both. We will get your product to both sites. Thank You very much for your kindness.”

“Brother works as a medic for the fire department. They are getting swamped during this time and this would be a great and helpful surprise! Thanks!”
