Hello Hadley and Philemon! Happy Thursday

It is December 19th, Day 2 The second last day of school of 2019!

The Food Drive team just has a few deliveries left to do!  Last night we hosted a holiday dinner for 30 local families from the immediate neighbourhood. This included a Christmas concert by the band, a turkey dinner served up by Eli and the caf team, gifts from the community Center delivered by our very own Ethan Bordeleau as Santa and the ever trusty elf Lovely Calixte. There was a team of volunteers ready to help set up, cleanup and help with the food deliveries. The families, who are all new to the area had not been told what they were coming to, so they were absolutely blown away to be receiving such wonderful generosity. And I am so grateful to be part of a team that has so much to give.  Mr Bunge would like to give a great big thank you to everyone that contributed to make this year's food drive a huge success. And wish everyone a great holiday. #Itscooltobekind Hadley and Philemon.

In science news:

Dr Ausmans and Mr Boicey’s class just did a lab on sugar content of various drinks and the results are quite shocking!

Which drink do you think has more sugar? A can of Redbull, or this little bottle of “Naked” fruit smoothie? Answer carefully...

Yup, that’s right, The Naked smoothy has more sugar!

And the little cranberry cocktail has more sugar than any of them!

Check out this display in the cafeteria if you are curious about how much sugar there is in your drinks.

Now don’t be confused.... we are definitely not saying you should be drinking more Redbull, but the quantity of sugar in soda and fruit drinks is quite incredible.
