Policies

• Attendance

• Students are required to attend school daily.
• Phone calls will be conducted daily to parents whose child/ren are not in school.
• After 3 absences, you will receive an attendance letter. After 5 absences, you will be requested to attend an attendance meeting.
• More than 5 absences your case will be submitted to the district attendance officer who is court appointed.
• If your child is going to the doctor, please submit a doctor's note the next day he/she returns to school. Please schedule doctor visits after school or send children to school after the appointment.

• Tardies

• School begins at 8:15am. Students who arrive after that time are marked tardy.
• Students with 3 tardies will be required to attend a Restorative Saturday.
• If students do not attend Restorative Saturday, the student will not be able to participate in the next school event (ie: field trip, assembly, Fun Day, etc…)

• Early Pickups

• Please refrain from picking your child up from school early.
• There will be no early pick up after 2:45pm.
• Parents/Guardians will need to wait until their child is dismissed at 3:05pm.

• Cell Phone Policy

• Students are expected to turn off their cell phones upon entering the building and placing their phones in their backpacks. Cellphones are expected to be off and away at all times.
• Students may voluntarily turn in their phones to their homeroom teacher when they arrive. Cell phones will be stored in a lock box and returned to students at dismissal time.
• If students are found to be in possession or use of a cell phone, the phone will be confiscated, placed in a labeled envelope, and delivered to the office. Cell phones will only be returned to a parent/guardian.
• If this occurs a second time, students will be required to turn in their phone to the main office upon arrival and school as a result.

• Uniform Policy

• Students are to be in full uniform daily. Burgundy/Maroon shirt with khaki or gray pants/skirt.
• After 3 days of not coming to school in uniform students will receive a Restorative Saturday.
• If students do not attend Restorative Saturday, the student will not be able to participate in the next school event (ie: field trip, assembly, Fun Day, etc…)

• Sweatshirts

• Students may wear sweatshirts during the day.
• Sweatshirts need to be maroon/burgundy. Students who wear any other colors will be asked to remove their sweatshirts for the day. Sweatshirts can be purchased through this link.

• Hoods are not allowed to be worn in the building at any time. Students who are caught with their hoods on will be asked to take off their sweatshirt. Sweatshirts will be sent to the main office and students will pick them up at dismissal.
• If this occurs a second time, the sweatshirt will need to be picked up by a parent/guardian.
• Sweatshirts that are not picked up in a timely manner will be washed and donated to a homeless shelter at the end of the month.

• Restorative Saturdays

• Restorative Saturdays will begin in September. Every Saturday from 8:30am-12:30am.
• A Restorative Saturday session gives the opportunity for students to reflect on their behavior and missed assignments. All students are required to wear the school uniform.
• Parents will receive a letter advising their child is required to attend a Restorative Saturday session prior to student attending.

We hope you understand our stance on these policies and we highly encourage you to talk with your child about these new expectations. We have already addressed this change with the students. As always, we appreciate your support as we try to provide each and every student with the best educational experience possible. Please complete the next page and return to your child’s homeroom teacher.

Políticas

Asistencia:

•  Se requiere que los estudiantes asistan a la escuela todos los días.
•  Se realizarán llamadas telefónicas diariamente a los padres cuyos hijos no están en la escuela.
•  Después de 3 ausencias, recibirá una carta de asistencia. Después de 5 ausencias, se le pedirá que asista a una reunión de asistencia.
• Con más de 5 ausencias, su caso se enviará al oficial de asistencia del distrito designado por el tribunal.
• Si su hijo va al médico, envíe una nota del médico al día siguiente que regrese a la escuela. Programe visitas al médico después de la escuela o envíe a los niños a la escuela después de la cita.

Tardanzas

• La escuela comienza a las 8:25 am. Los estudiantes que llegan después de esa hora se marcan tarde.
•   Los estudiantes con 3 tardanzas deberán asistir a un sábado restaurativo.
• Si los estudiantes no asisten al Sábado Restaurativo, el estudiante no podrá participar en el próximo evento escolar (es decir, excursión, asamblea, Día de diversión, etc.)

Recogidas tempranas

• Por favor, absténgase de recoger a su hijo de la escuela temprano.
•  No habrá recogida temprana después de las 2:45 p. m.
• Los padres/tutores deberán esperar hasta que su hijo salga a las 2:55 p. m.

Política de telefonía celular

• Se espera que los estudiantes apaguen sus teléfonos celulares al entrar al edificio y coloquen sus teléfonos en sus mochilas. Se espera que los teléfonos celulares estén apagados y lejos en todo momento.
• Los estudiantes pueden entregar voluntariamente sus teléfonos a su maestro de aula cuando lleguen. Los teléfonos celulares se almacenarán en una caja de seguridad y se devolverán a los estudiantes a la hora de la salida.
• Si se descubre que los estudiantes están en posesión o en uso de un teléfono celular, el teléfono será confiscado, colocado en un sobre etiquetado y entregado a la oficina. Los teléfonos celulares serán devueltos a un padre/tutor.
• Si esto ocurre por segunda vez, como resultado, los estudiantes deberán entregar su teléfono a su maestro todas las mañanas.

Política de Uniformes

• Los estudiantes deben estar en uniforme completo todos los días. Camisa rojo vino con pantalón/falda caqui o gris.
• Después de 3 días de no venir a la escuela en uniforme, los estudiantes recibirán un Sábado Restaurativo.

Sudaderas

• Los estudiantes pueden usar sudaderas durante el día, pero se les puede pedir que se quiten las sudaderas si tenemos visitantes en el edificio y durante una evaluación.
• No se permite usar capuchas en el edificio en ningún momento. A los estudiantes que sean sorprendidos con las capuchas puestas se les pedirá que se quiten la sudadera. Las sudaderas se enviarán a la oficina y los estudiantes las recogerán a la hora de la salida.
• Si esto ocurre por segunda vez, el padre o tutor deberá recoger la sudadera.
• Las sudaderas que no se recojan a tiempo se lavarán y se donarán a un refugio para personas sin hogar a fin de mes.

Sábados restaurativos

• Los sábados restaurativos comenzarán en diciembre. Todos los sábados de 8:30 am a 11:00 am.
• Una sesión de Sábado Restaurativo brinda a los estudiantes la oportunidad de reflexionar sobre su comportamiento y las tareas perdidas. Se requiere que todos los estudiantes usen el uniforme escolar.
• Los padres recibirán una carta informándoles que su hijo debe asistir a una sesión de Sábado Restaurativo antes de que el estudiante asista. (Ver modelo de carta)

Ya hemos abordado este cambio con los estudiantes. Esperamos que comprenda nuestra postura sobre estas nuevas políticas y le recomendamos que hable con su hijo sobre estas nuevas expectativas. Como siempre, apreciamos su apoyo mientras tratamos de brindar a todos y cada uno de los estudiantes la mejor experiencia educativa posible.
