Sydney Outfielders Captains Code of Conduct
As a member and Captain of the Sydney Outfielders Softball League, it is expected that Captains not only follow the league members Code of Conduct, but also are held to a higher standard.
As a Captain, I agree to:
- read and review league rules, and adhere to them
- treat all participants, officials, committee members, and spectators with respect at all time, encouraging healthy competition and sportspersonship
- promote fun, safe game play understanding we are a diverse group of players and talents, and encourage learning and positive growth for all
- respect the Umpire(s) during games – if a play, rule, or actions are in question, only the Captain should raise it with the Umpire and other team Captain to discuss and resolve in a respectful manner
- discourage any behaviors or practices that would endanger the health, safety, or wellbeing of another person
- call-out derogatory, threatening or profane language towards any official, Captain, participant, or spectator
- abide by League Rules and support Umpires’ decisions
- agree with the opposing Captain, ahead of the game, any proposed rule modifications (included but not limited to balance of gender on the roster, modifications due to player physical ailments, changes to game start time).
I understand if I do not follow or abide by any of the above guidelines, a resolution process will/may take place as outlined in the Sydney Outfielders Rules.
By signing (via ink or email acknowledgement), I agree to abide by the Players Code of Conduct, the League Rules, facility/park rules, and the above Captains Code of Conduct
