How to Setup Two-Factor Authentication in Pipeline
(
Click here for the short version of these instructions)

When you login to pipeline for the first time and Two-Factor Authentication is required, but you have not set it up yet, you will see this screen:

You can choose to get your first code either by text (personal phone number), personal email (not your Pipeline email), or set up with the Google Authenticator app (iOS or Android).  Then click continue.

You will then see the screen below where you can enter the information for your choice (phone number, email, or Authenticator setup). In this example we chose email, so you would enter your personal email address (not Pipeline email):

You will then receive an email from “noreply@onbio-key.com” containing your first one-time passcode (OTP) code. Enter the OTP you received on the following screen and click “login”.

You will now be able to complete your login to Pipeline, and the method you chose will be your primary way of receiving your 2FA codes.   If you want to change that method in the future, you can follow the instructions below.

You have completed the setup for Two factor authentication.

Here are the steps for setting up Two-Factor Authentication to Campus Pipeline. Once enabled, each time you log into Campus Pipeline from a public or classroom/lab computer, you will be required to enter a random numeric code after entering your Campus Pipeline ID and password.  You will receive the OTP (One Time Passcode) on your registered (cell) Phone or (personal) Email address. The OTP acts as the second factor to ensure that the person logging in is you.  A “remember this device for 30 days” option can be enabled on your home or office computer so that you won’t need to enter an OTP every time you log into those computers that you use on a regular basis.

  2. Click Add new (cell) Phone OR Add my (personal) Email

  9. If you registered your (cell) Phone, you have the OPTION of using Google’s Mobile Authenticator App. If you choose this OPTION, you need to download and install the Google Authenticator app from the appropriate app store for your phone.

The default option is Phone.  Though it’s not shown, if you did not select the Mobile Authentication app above, it would be listed as a third option below Account Unlock.

  1. IMPORTANT  - Print One Time Passcodes - This will enable you to enter a OTP if you can’t access your (cell) Phone or (personal) Email. You can use these codes each only once.
You may want to keep a picture of the OTP on your (cell) Phone or save a copy in an email sent to your (personal) Email. Remember to bring your cell phone and/or a printed copy of the OTP codes to your classroom so you can login with your class computer if there is poor/no cellular reception in the room.

Once Two-Factor Authentication is setup for you account

  1. Sign into Pipeline
  2. A One Time PassCode will be sent to your (cell) Phone or (personal) Email, enter the OTP in the textbox.
Optional: Select Checkbox to Remember this Device? (Remembering this browser prevents extra login prompts on that computer for the next 30 days. You should NOT enable this on public/shared computers.)
    Click
    Login.

  1. You will now be logged into Pipeline.
  2.  If you cannot login, click Problems with OTP?
  3. You will be shown OTP options

You only have 5 attempts to get it right.
