Winter 2017 Program Monday through Friday ~ Nov. 27 - Feb. 23, 2:45-5:00 pm

Our primary goal is to have children come to after-school programs. Please do not let the fee prevent you from enrolling your child/children.  Quality Programming for as low as $2.98 a day!

There are scholarships available please talk to Mrs. Erica Baker for more information.

Daily Schedule: includes snack, recess, enrichment activity and homework time.

These programs are funded in part through a
   Vermont Agency of Education 21st Century Community Learning Center Grant received in 2015.

Mondays

 ** For Grades 1-6** 

 Group limit: 15

Do you like to play games? Join us! Students  will be practicing their math skills primarily through games. We will tailor this program around what the students need to practice. The older students in this program will become math buddies to the younger students.

Do you like to build, take things apart and rebuild?

Use your imagination to create different compositions each week. You will be working both inside and outside with recycled materials and items from nature.

Students will enjoying readings and activities from Eric Carle. Books will include Little Cloud, Very Hungry Caterpillar, The Very Busy Spider, The Grouchy Lady Bug, The Tiny Seed, The Mixed up Chameleon, and Papa Please Get the Moon For Me.

Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math will all be included in this activity as students create race cars out of recycled materials.

Have fun building and creating with legos in this club. This group will learn building principles to solve some design problems.

Students will have fun learning about electronics while they build projects such as radios, alarms, doorbells and much more.

Learn to Knit!  We will learn to knit by making a garter stitch scarf with pom-poms (or without!).  Kids will learn how to cast on, knit, bind off, make poms, and fix the inevitable mistakes that happen!

Myths, Legends, and Folktales

Explore myths, legends, and folktales, and participate in activities about the story each week. Books will include Abiyoyo, City Mouse, Country Mouse, Henny Penny, John Henry, Seven Blind Mice and Tikki Tikki Tembo.

 Lego Famous Landmarks

Students will be learning about a new landmark each week. They will explore each landmark and then try to build that landmark with legos.

 Please note: spots will be given to non basketball players first to ensure  
that students will be able to finish their project.

Make a stop-motion animation using a video camera! Working in small teams, you will draw characters, paint backgrounds, write original scripts, and animate your movies. When the shooting's done, we'll make sound effects, play instruments, and record voices. No experience needed.

NEK Kids on the Move

A total of $284.00 for 3 months of quality programming. Cost per child per day: $2.98/child/day or $1.19/hour.
