The Technician will be responsible for sample handling, sample preparation, performing analyses, and customer service. The work will consist of chemical and physical testing of materials using techniques such as viscometry, tensiometry and mechanical testing of physical parts, followed by documentation of test results using various optical techniques. The job will involve working in a team and collaborating with other EAG teams in Sunnyvale, Santa Clara and St Louis. It will involve close cooperation with customers and attention to detail, good record keeping and the ability to follow work instructions will be essential.

Process Engineering SME (Injection Molding/Manufacturing) –
Santa Cruz, CA – 6 month contract to possible full time.
Background:
Our client is a large-scale medical device contract manufacturer which focuses on plastics and injection molding. They are currently in need of a Process Engineering SME to come in and work on manufacturing process improvements for their manufacturing lines.
Responsibilities:
This person will be working autonomously for our client, working to improve overall manufacturing processes on their injection molding production lines. They will be coming in to improve already-existing manufacturing processes and will need to author validation & verification protocols for the new processes & improvements they decide on. This person should be well-versed in lean-six sigma problem solving procedures. This person must have experience working hands-on with injection molding presses; Specifically Arbor Presses, Toshiba Presses, and SODICK Presses. This person must be a manufacturing process improvement subject matter expert with heavy experience in plastics and injection molding from a manufacturing/production perspective. This person will identify defects below our client’s thresholds and make decisions/recommendations on how the production lines can be improved to save money and overall increase production efficiency. This person must be a plastics and injection molding subject matter expert with at least 10 years of experience working in this type of position.
