PTA - Stay and Play - Saturday 22nd September
The PTA have arranged a ‘Stay and Play’ session at school from 2 to 4 pm on Saturday the 22nd September.
This is a relaxed ‘get to know us’ session where children and adults can come to school have cake/ drink and play games. PTA have arranged lots of exciting activities so we hope you can join us!
The current lunch menu can be found here
Snacks and Drinks at Playtime
Fruit is provided for all children at morning playtime. Yr R to year 2 is funded by the Government Free Fruit and Veg Scheme and year 3 to year 6 is funded by school. If you feel that your child would rather eat fruit / veg from home then that is fine but please make sure it is fruit or veg (dried fruit is fine). Please do not send in ‘unhealthy’ items as we are promoting healthy eating.
Please send your child with a water bottle to keep in the classroom. We ask that it is only water in the bottle to help with healthy eating and to keep the ants away!
Please be aware that we have nut and sesame allergies in school. This means no nuts/ nutella/ hummus (it contains tahini which is ground sesame seeds). Thanks you for helping keep our children safe.
I would like to say a huge thank you to Alex and Theo Cookson who decided to help raise money over the holiday by running 100 km. The money raised will be used to help with our playground improvements. Between them they raised over £400 - which I think is amazing! I'm so proud of them (as is their mum!).
They must be very fit!
If you would still like to make a donation their fundraising page is here:
Today we launched our Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics STEM focus for the year.
Miss Crossan will be the lead teacher in this area and as part of the process we will be working towards a science accreditation for the school. Mrs Lewis is our Maths Mastery Specialist and will work with Miss Crossan on the M of STEM!
Our PTA are also focusing on fundraising to help develop STEM across the school.
As a school we feel that focusing on STEM really fulfills our vision of ‘preparing each child for their future in an ever-changing world’.
This year we are focusing on building children’s STEM capital. Please see this youtube video which explains our approach to STEM.
If you have any expertise or interest in STEM and can offer the school your time or experience please email the office or see Miss Crossan.
We are all looking forward to an exciting year ahead!
