Introduction to new material:

  1. Discuss key environmental issues in Sudan, such as deforestation, desertification, and water scarcity.
  2. Facilitate a discussion on common misconceptions about the environment, such as "Climate change is not a serious issue in Sudan."

Guided Practice:

  1. Divide students into groups and provide them with resources to research and map out the causes and effects of environmental issues in Sudan and discuss possible solutions.
  2. Monitor student performance by circulating around groups, asking probing questions, and providing clarifications as needed.

Independent Practice:

  1. Each group will present their visual map to the class, explaining the causes, effects, and potential solutions they have identified to the class for feedback.

Closing:

  1. Summarize the main environmental issues discussed and solutions proposed in Sudan.
  2. Have a brief class discussion on the challenges of implementing these solutions and the importance of collective action.

Homework:

Write a reflective essay on the importance of environmental sustainability in Sudan and propose three innovative solutions to address a specific environmental issue in the region.

Extension Activity:

Students who finish early can research a specific environmental issue in Sudan in more depth and create a presentation to educate their peers.
