Home And School Association

The Home and School Association met on Monday to discuss fundraisers for this term. The next meeting is on Monday 6th September at 7pm in the staff room - all are welcome.

This term’s fundraisers are a Marlow Pies fundraiser - order forms were sent home yesterday with your child. Please return orders and money to school by Friday 27th August. Pies will need to be picked up from school during the afternoon of Wednesday 15th September.

There is a sausage sizzle next Thursday 19th - $2 for a sausage and bread.

There are also plans for a school disco later in the term - more details will follow.

Teacher Only Day

A teacher only day has been arranged for Wednesday 25th August. This is to enable Professional Development for our entire staff team. School will be closed for instruction on this day.

Thank you to all the magnificent helpers at swimming on Fridays - we could not participate in this programme without adult help. The sessions have been excellent so far and the students will hopefully be making good progress in this vital part of the PE curriculum.

If you would like to help out please let your child’s teacher know through Seesaw, or email. Session times are as follows:

9.30am - 10.30am - Ti Kouka and Rimu

11am - 12pm - Ngaio and Totara

12pm - 1pm - Harakeke, Rata and Pohutukawa

These are the times when the students are in the pool. The transport by bus will leave school 30 minutes before the session time.

There are often students who don’t have, or forget to bring, swimming togs on Fridays and they then need to borrow some from the office for the swimming sessions - we would be grateful for any good condition, spare togs/goggles as our supplies are getting low (especially girls togs sizes 6 - 10) - please drop them to Karen in the office if you are able to donate anything.

Jason Kinnaird

Rimu and the school welcomed Jason at the start of term 3. We are lucky to have such an experienced teacher able to join our staff at short notice.

Bayfield Art Exhibition

Bayfield High School held their annual art exhibition this week where local schools display artwork - special congratulations to Meghan Goldfinch (1st prize) and Bianca Keen (highly commended) for their work.
