4625 KHz Morse Code investigation log

4625 KHz is a Russian emergency radio station used to broadcast civil defense alerts, according to the Russian Wikipedia page.

On June 9 2020 around 21:00 UTC 2 shortwave listeners noticed Morse Code (u/GamerTechXL and u/Toastbrot_TV) coming across. It has since been decoded by multiple people, including but not limited to u/SonicResidue, u/Yummylicorice, and discord user Aidyen#2394.

It is believed that RBC89 is the callsign

It is also known that frequencies near 4625 KHz are used by the Russian government and military for general communications, which is most likely the case here. Since the callsign appears to be different than that of UVB-76, now ANVF and ZhUOZ, it was concluded that it most likely is an unrelated broadcast to the actual “Buzzer” 4625 Khz, and simply a side band was being used to broadcast the Morse Code. The Morse code itself comes in on a frequency near to 4625 KHz, between 4625 and 4626, but is not from UVB-76.
