Since 2014, I've had the pleasure to serve as the Principal of the Henry Barnard Laboratory School. As an educator, as an administrator, and most especially as a parent, I am gratified every day when I walk the hallways of our school and see our students and our faculty thrive in a vibrant community that is warm and welcoming. We invite you to come to the school and meet us, visit classrooms, tour, and experience our palpable enthusiasm for learning.
It is our priority to engage our learners in the best educational experience while they are a part of the HBS family, and prepare them for a future that is rich with possibility and promise. Our educators are members of the faculty at the Feinstein School of Education and Human Development at Rhode Island College and are at the forefront of some of the most pioneering and sophisticated educational practices of our time. Their dedication, expertise, and passion inspire our students to learn, succeed and grow year after year.
Our classrooms are also staffed with teacher associates who are the best and the brightest students in the department of education and who go on to become the area's best teachers. And because curriculum, community, and commitment will always be rooted in what we call the "HBS Experience," our alumni remain engaged with us throughout the trajectory of the careers and lives.
Most rewarding of all, however, is the exceptional support and engagement from our HBS families. You have entrusted us with the hearts and minds of your children from 8 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. every school day – a responsibility and a privilege that we will never take for granted. For this, and for all the ways our parents support us in this important mission, we are so thankful.
In service to the children of HBS,
