AVPA Performing Arts | For students in the Academy of Visual and Performing Arts-performing arts (Theatre, Chorus, Band, and Orchestra) cohort. This is a weekly seminar event. |

Braves Buddies | Braves Buddies is a club dedicated to establishing a volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, leadership development, and inclusive living for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities |
Board Games/Cards | Bring your friends and learn to play new games, or just relax and play one of your favorites. We have all sorts of board games and plenty of decks of cards. If you are interested in learning how to play poker, blackjack, hearts, spades, or any other card game, come on out!! |

Ceramic and Sculpture Club | Students may complete self-paced ceramics and sculpture projects. Before any clay construction project begins, students will need to view tutorials on techniques used to complete the project successfully. Any clay project must be completed in a short period of time, or the clay will dry out and become unusable. |

Chopticon Post | Chopticon Post is the school's online newspaper. If you have any interest in writing news stories, photography, interviewing students, or want to learn more about these skills, please join us! We are open to all grade levels and we have several leadership positions available for dedicated students who want to tell the news at Chopticon High School! |

Environmental/Recycling Club | Do you like to do your part in saving the planet? Join us in recycling and also sprucing up the gardens around Chopticon. |
Envirothon | Students with an interest in natural resource management, including wildlife, soils, aquatics, and current environmental issues, are invited to explore our program. |

FCA Club | FCA is a welcoming community where students can grow in their faith, build meaningful friendships, and encourage one another through the challenges of school, sports, and everyday life. You do not have to be an athlete to join. FCA is open to all students who want to learn, connect, encourage others, and grow in their faith. |

Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) | Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) is the world's largest business career and technical student organization. It serves over 230,000 middle school, high school, and college students globally. The non-profit group helps students build leadership skills, gain real-world business experience, and prepare for careers through competitive events, conferences, and community projects. |
Future Farmers of America (FFA) | FFA is a dynamic youth organization that changes lives and prepares members for premier leadership, personal growth, and career success through agricultural education. FFA develops members’ potential and helps them discover their talent through hands-on experiences, which give members the tools to achieve real-world success. Members are future farmers, chemists, veterinarians, government officials, entrepreneurs, bankers, international business leaders, teachers, and premier professionals in many career fields. FFA is an intracurricular student organization for those interested in agriculture and leadership. Students can compete in different competitions such as Tool Identification, Livestock Evaluation, Floriculture, Milk Quality and Products, and many other events |
GSA | Genders & Sexualities Alliances, or GSAs for short, are student-run organizations that unite LGBTQ+ and allied youth to build community and organize around issues impacting them in their schools and communities |
HERD (Hoedspruit Elephant Rehabilitation and Development | Watch their YouTube clips about the orphaned herd, learn more about elephants, and how the people are rescuing orphaned elephants into a herd. It is very relaxing and informative. |
Ice Hockey Club | Open to members of the school ice hockey team, area travel ice hockey teams, or for those who just love the sport. This is a chance to hang out on Mondays during "A" lunch. We will bond over highlight reels, discuss strategy, build life skills, and enjoy some hockey-themed games. |
Intramurals Unit | Have fun and build your skills with the PE unit that is being covered in classes. Please note- unsafe behavior and/or poor sportsmanship will result in not being able to participate. |

Model United Nations | Model United Nations simulates the United Nations and involves students in deliberation, discussions, and role-playing as other countries. |
MTSS Student Committee | The MTSS student committee is seeking students to share their ideas about our Chopticon culture. The committee will create ideas for school-wide incentives and activities. We will work together to plan the implementation of school-based behavior incentives. |
National Art Honor Society | NAHS will create/produce two school/community art projects throughout the school year. Members also have access to scholarships and recognition. |
Play-Doh Club | Students can enjoy the sensory experiences and creativity that playing with Play-Doh fosters. |
SeaPerch Robotics Club | SeaPerch is an underwater robotics program where students will build and design a robot that can complete underwater tasks and navigate an underwater obstacle course. The goal is to compete against other schools in the region with the potential to go to the international SeaPerch competition hosted at the University of Maryland. |
Sci-Fi Movies | If you like all things sci-fi, you will love this club! We watch various sci-fi movies and series. |
Softball Team - Book Club | Per Mr. Cioppa - The book club is open to all students who are planning on trying out for the Chopticon softball program this spring. Participation in the book club is optional. We will be reading The Energy Bus by Jon Gordon, which students will need to purchase on their own. |
Softball Club | The Softball Club is designed to be a place for all current and future members of the CHS Softball program to study, eat, bond with teammates, ask questions of coaches, and prepare for game days (in-season). |
Student Government Association | The Student Government Association supports clubs, helps organize events and fun activities such as Homecoming, and participates in county and statewide school policies and procedures. |
Trading Card Club | The trading card club allows a space for students to discuss, share, and trade their favorite types of trading cards. Owners of Pokémon cards, sports trading cards, or any other trading cards are welcome. |
Video Game Club | Are you competitive? Need a challenge? Need a break from academics? Then consider the Video Game Club, where we have fun together based on our passion for playing video games! Regardless of whether you are a new or seasoned gamer, the gaming club offers students an opportunity to socialize and play both multiplayer and single-player games, as well as spend time discussing gaming strategies and preferences. ROTC Events/Clubs | ROTC clubs, meetings, and events have a rotating schedule, which can be viewed below: Location AFJROTC Trailer: PRIDE days: AFJROTC clubs are offered on a rotating basis due to other internal clubs that are limited to Cadets ONLY. Below are the clubs offered to any CHS Student: If you are interested in joining, please ask any AFJROTC Cadet or instructor, or stop by the Trailer to sign up:
1. Club Activity: Robotics Description: VEX Robotics. Build a robot with a step-by-step guide or get creative to build from scratch. Then program the robot with a software interface and computer commands, or maneuver with a controller through various obstacles or basic task completion. This club also offers off-campus trips for competition-style events with other high schools and communities. 2. Club Activity: Aircraft and Rocketry Model Building Description: Do you enjoy building things? Then the Aircraft/ Rocket Model building is for you. The club provides knowledge on how to design and/or build small model rockets or planes from kits and creative/personal approaches as well. Aircraft may also be flown or operated, but rocketry is not due to safety policies. 3. Club Activity: Orienteering Description: Learn to navigate by following a set of directions or using a map and compass. Students compete against other students to see who can complete the task at hand and find specific points on a map or land, by walking, hiking, or jogging from point to point. 4. Club Activity: Drones Description: Drones are offered as an educational and recreational experience. Students experience the world’s fastest-growing technology, creating collaborative learning lessons in engineering, iterative design, and applied science. After learning flying safety regulations, students start with the basics of flight and then move on to autonomous flight skills, programming their drone for autonomous operation. From building drones to programming them, drones are a trailblazing educational tool that prepares students for the future in careers that haven’t even been invented yet. Work towards your TRUST and/or Part 107 Certification. 5. Every Friday, A/B Lunch, the trailer and outside courtyard (weather depending) is OPEN for "Aim High Club". You MUST BE accompanied by an AFJROTC Cadet to attend. We offer engaging activities to build confidence, communication skills, and set goals to "Aim High" and achieve success in school and your community. Activities include problem-solving challenges, communication improvement, puzzles, various sports and fitness, dance, drill/marching, riflery techniques, and a variety of engaging, creative events to build your confidence and connect with other students.. |
